So after some helpful feedback that Van Saar might not be the best way to make friends in my first Necromunda campaign (not off the table yet, but probably not going that route), I put together an Enforcer gang and I would really appreciate some feedback from the community!

You seem to plan to use ypir captain as a melee-oriented fighter. If that's the case, you might want to think of a subjugator captain. In my -very limited- experience, going up against a dedicated Melee fighter with any enforcer is a brave decision. Becomes much better (alas, not *good*) with a Vigilance shield. Their Output is just nothing to write home about.

I like the Sniper Sergeant, that's how I am doing it as well.
To my personal tastes, 2x Bolter and 2x Carbine is too uniform, and I'd probably switch one of the carbines for a shotgun. Those can be very useful and it's more varied. (Which, in my eyes, equals more fun.)

I built one of the patrolmen with Stubgun + Autopistol. I don't expect that to be particularly good, but it gives some personality to the crew. And it's dirt cheap in Credits.

Honestly skip the hardened flak. You pay more for it and get less than mesh armour unless you have one very niche situation.
You don't really don't need the dumdum on the Subjugator either, it is unlikely you will even be using the stub gun

Ah, also: You probably have a clerical error in the list, with 370 credits left despite the gang being at full strenght. (Probably you "added" gear instead of "buying" it? Happens to me all the time.)

Based on the comments so far, I’ve come up with an alternative list. To be honest, this feels more fun and varied, and while I’m sure he won’t be good per se, I’m loving the idea of the gunfighter sergeant and the random flashlight dude (which also allows me to take advantage of that amazing sculpt).

Most of the gang looks good. Your captain, though, is a joke. A shock stave and nothing else? That's not a threat to anyone.

Also, never bring a grenade launcher without krak grenades. It would just be an overpriced concussion carbine.

Edit:
My initial comment was about your original list. The updated version is worse. Stub gun is not a main weapon. Even with two of them.

Thank you for all the feedback! I have changed up the list (again) and this is what I’m going to go with. I did realize that the Captain’s increased weapon skill is a trap, in melee he’s going to die, so gearing him up for range is better at first. My remaining question is whether fast shot or hip shot are better for the Subjugator Sergeant.

Hip shot is mostly useful on fighters with short ranged weapons, and template weapons in particular.

Likewise, fast shot is mostly useful when you face players who don't know the game very well. Anyone with a little experience under their belt will simply pin the fighter, or make him move to get a shot, and fast shot is completely neutered.

I would suggest trick shot. It is always active and is a particularly great asset to someone with a BS of only 4+.
