Flamekebab's glacially-paced log

Minis have been on hold for a bit whilst I whipped myself and the GCE Kommittee until GCE 2.0 got out the door.
My baby daughter is growing fast and GCE takes big chunks of concentration time - I figured that I want that project to a good state now because as she grows I'd rather that time goes to her. I like my projects but she's a bigger priority than multi-year rulebook projects!

Now that GCE 2.0.1 is out (of course there were some mistakes, it's basically inevitable) I'm able to get back to short painting sessions when she's napping and the like.

I've got these two done. A Dredge Marine Tide Master and the Doctor of the Dredge:

That lad is a bit blurrier than I'm okay with so let's have him on his own too:

For some reason I thought the Tide Master was a standalone mini. Hmm. Might need to do the rest of the squad next, I guess!

This time I've been painting a Daemon Prince with wings, or Mezgike's equivalent at least:

Here's some close-ups of details. I really like the tentacled creature that's part of his gun, and I decided to make the latest victim one of my Sons of Sonora (I need to get around to painting more of those - there's so many still to do...).

He's quite big, but pales next to Mthulus:

As you can see, I'm building up quite a number of these lads. Next up is a dreadnought and the one I call "snail guy". Whilst my printer is staying with a friend, I stopped by today to pick up a missing part for him (no idea what became of mine - I was processing a LOT of models when I was assembling these guys!).

After that I've only got one normal sized character left to paint, I think (Thalpior). A few more minis have been released but I'll have to get to those later. After Thalpior I've got to decide whether I should paint more infantry (I've got a load of standard troops - Dredge Marines and Rig Walkers) or to tackle some of the vehicles. I'm not doing the Knight yet (did I mention I printed a knight?!).

What do you think I should do next? Troops or vehicles?

Let's start with Snail Guy!

He's Mezgike's Slime-ridden Exterminator (https://mezgike.com/collections/the-dredge/products/slime-ridden-exterminator-digital-download ) but I'll be using him as a Foul Blightspawn).

Then we've got Thalpior, the Typhus proxy (https://mezgike.com/products/commander-thalpior-dredge-legion-master-digital-download ):

Painting him I realised that so far not a single other mini in this army has helmet lenses. They all have weird heads, helmets, or something obscuring them!

First dread done!

This one I found heavy going, mainly because of the amount of metal. Something about painting metal with a brush puts me off.

Still, the end result isn't too bad and now I can get onto something else!

This was actually the last of the prepped Dredge minis on my shelf. I have loads more boxed up but the actual shelf is clear, which has been quite cathartic. There's a few bases of dredgelings that aren't primed and the other dredgenought design too, but as they're not prepped my brain is okay with it.

I'm toying with trying to paint a grot a day for a while next. I've got about thirty sitting about, although only ten are actually prepped.
