N17 Forgeworld Sumpkroc Revealed

I thought they might release the kroc along with a Goliath special character kinda like Slate Merdina and Macula.

They probably meant to, but I get the impression the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing over at GW... The whole N17 process has been a disaster.

The Goliath themed stim injectors or whatever they are on his back are terribly sculpted, (checking the unpainted shots) you've come to expect resin to be a bit crappy compared to plastic the longer the mini has been out, but right from the start on this model they look deformed.

The head certainly looks better from the unpainted one's angle - although the rest looks rather worse. Truly a Goliath crocodile: big and beefy due to steroid use, with a side effect of giving him a small, ahem, tail.

At least my Escher ladies no longer have to be jealous that they can't field a croc, as I have little interest in that model anyway (yeah, I know, the cats hardly look amazing.. but those might be salvageable. If they're ever released.)

I think I might be sticking to Flesh Hounds as Sumpcrocs.

I’ll probably get one, for my Zoo, but I don’t know if i’ll Use one over the Hounds.

It's out, £15, 6 components - so 5 making the beastie!

Hive legend has it that many thousands of years ago, during a different age of Necromunda, a now long-extinct type of reptile became the fashion accessory of choice for uphive nobility. Today, the Sumpkrocs that House Goliath keep are somewhat different to the original creature, with centuries of genetic cloning causing a few changes and they no longer wholly resemble the creature first imported…

Add an Exotic beast to your Goliath gangs in games of Necromunda – a strange and wonderful beast loyal to its owner, with its own unique stats and skills – with this multipart resin kit. Goliath Sumpkroc is a bountifully fanged Sumpkroc, a hardy beast of muscle and tooth. He comes as 6 components, and is supplied with a 40mm Necromunda base.

Rules for fielding Sumpkrocs as Exotic Beasts can be found in Gang War 3.

I'm a fan of the model design, although the gap filling looks like a lot of bother and the official paint job is horrendously bad :/ ... but I'm not sure it's worth 22 pounds to me (thanks Forgeworld currency exchange tax) when there are cheaper alternatives around... I don't think it's that 'wow'...

The idea of using the new Flesh Hounds has a nice ring to it... if I don't forgo GWS altogether and get a Reaper (or other) proxy.

I only had to greenstuff mine on the right hand side legs, unfortunately they’re turned away in the photos but the gaps weren’t very big to be honest. The left hand side joined up seemlessly for me, as did the tail. The head and jaws matched up well too, if you’re careful you can get the ridges on the soft fleshy parts of the cheeks to line up perfectly. It’s really not so bad.
