FYSC 2026 - Finish your stuff!

I don't want to count chickens, but there's a chance I might actually finish something before the end of the month...

Probably won't get much more finished before end of the month so posting what I have completed.

First up we have some more Orlocks for my Necro 95 collection.

Next we have some 40k stuff. All for 2nd ed, hence Huron being on a smaller base.

Finally a rat ogre for my Mordheim Clan Pestilens warband. Rest of the warband is basecoated so will be completed before the end of May.

One thing I really miss from the old days are the smaller juve models.

Here's how far my WoC army has gotten to, now standing at 750 pts:

Counting the Sorcerer and Warriors who got painted and then dismissed from active service for not being any use at all, I have now passed 1000 pts on the correct bases for the Old World. Goal for this year is 2k.

I just realised I posted in the wrong thread... 😅

I go fix...

You doing regular Chaos or Wolves of the Sea? Chaos warriors can be a bit meh in WOTS, but have been very useful in my regular Chaos horde. Sorcerers are handy for the daemonology buffs, or direct damage with battle magic. Not tried the new shadowlands magic yet though.

I think you are well ahead of me on the Chaos-painting, although I also intend to finish a 2k army by the end of the year. I I lost motivation when I hit the big marauder block so will need to force myself to get through the remaining ranks.

@katfezza

I'm using the regular Grand Army restrictions. The plan initially wasn't to rebase the Marauder block as part of the campaign, and instead put most of my points into Warriors (new), Dragon Ogres (new), Chariots (new) and Knights (rebased). Once I have the new stuff painted and most of the old stuff rebased, I may convert up some units to play the variant lists. There are rumours of a mixed WoC / Beastmen list, which sounds like a fun project to tackle. The AoS Chaos armies have a lot of models that I like the looks of.

Are you painting the new Marauders or the old ones? I think the new ones look nice, but like a lot of newer GW models there are so many, many details. I painted mine back in the FB days and got some variation in by using bits from the (now OOP) Horsemen kit.

You will love what dragon ogres can do. Absolute beasts. Also helpful for hanging around with heroes on daemonic steeds as they are the same unit type.

I'm working on the newest marauders. They have a lot of layered clothing and have been a bit tedious to work on for this army. My other Chaos army (grand army list) used Legionnaires from Warcry and were a lot faster to paint.

There's a chance that I have, but I'm not sure whether to declare it finished now or not.

(The decision not helped by a tray of varnished models falling over - so I need to check for damage / possible repairs.)

Maydheim? Sure, I can get on board with that. I can always be convinced to paint up more Mordheim stuff.
