Playing around with a Archeotek idea.
As Archeoteks (the principle Tech skills tree access) can take via Trade post any additional weapons from it, they can take the Plentiful Sawn off Shotgun.
Gadgeteer allows them, if in the starting crew, to swap Plentiful for, among others, Shock. How would you say it interacts with Scatter shot?
If a Shock weapon hits on a 6 it automatically wounds "the wound roll is considered to automatically succeed (no wound roll needs to be made)."
Scattershot. " When a target is hit by a Scattershot attack, make D6 wound rolls instead of 1."
So I figure such an attack could be as follows.
Roll to hit. Get a 6. Shock trait is triggered.
Roll for Scattershot to get number of wound rolls. Get 1-6.
Given that the wound roll automatically succeeded due to Shock that translates to a automatic wound regardless of target toughness with a Damage of 1 to 6.
That actually makes the Sawnoff Shotgun scary (Potentially Damage 6).
I suppose adding Rad Rounds (Book of peril rules 🤪) would just be piling on at that point.

Shouldn't it be scater shots and schock for number of wound. then for each number of 6 it get schock? I guess you find something like a potential hidden gem but the results change a lot depending on what effect you apply before the other.

Shock activates off the To Hit roll, not off the To Wound roll. Scatter Shot is after the To Hit roll, to determine the number of To Wound rolls (which Shock then makes automatically successful). It should work, actually.

Is the sawn-off the only Plentiful Scattershot weapon? Huh. Looks like yes, aside from the Cawdor Blunderpole. Regular Shotgun and Combat Shotgun don't have Plentiful on their Scattershots. And the sawn-off still has Plentiful on its Solid rounds. Would Gadgeteer affect all the profiles on the sawn-off? or just one?

You have very good points.

edit: The Delaque version has Knock back and not scarter shot. i don't know it is a typo or a different kind of sawn off shotgun.

Why a sawn of shotgun and not an other plentiful weapon?
It would work on others but I was angling to get more milage out of the Sawn off r.e. it's Scattershot profile.
It is also cheapest, and out of the Scattershot weapons typically available, Combat and Regular Shotguns (which can gain Plentiful via Weaponsmith to qualify), it's S is 3 opposed to 2 for when Shock does not activate so can hurt a little more routinely.

Yes it is routinely although as Van Saar the suppression laser gets it as well. You can get more with Weaponsmith though with a double skill build.
Gadgeteer includes the word "weapon" in the description so it would apply to the metal tube you are shoving rounds into and not the rounds themselves so it should apply to all it's eligible profiles.
Unless you count bullets as weapons which you must throw. (Well one recent gang of mine was Ogryns so maybe (?).

Neat idea, but aren't sawn-off shotguns pretty terrible?
They are meh/ok in my experience in normal use. Best in zone mortalis and dense terrain. It's Scattershot is better than a regular shotgun by a S point and it's 15 credits.
As a back up weapon a 15 credits gun that can automatically inflict Damage 6 with shock seems a bit of a steal to me.
Or with Rending that's a whopping potential Damage 12.
It's more a break glass in case of emergency situation say when your big gun is out of ammo and that nacht ghul pops up behind you.
I know most people would like Sidearm to be added to the Sawn off but that involves getting in melee.
Why would a Van Saar archeotek get in melee? It's scary there! People get stabbed!
