General Necromunda 2017 Discussion

I've been working on Gor Half-Horn cleaned gim up yesterday and he has to be the most awkward GW mini that I have ever had to clean up, there was a hell of a lot of flash on his chainsword in between his chain blades. I know that's not something that hasn't happened before but all the previous figures I've had the same situation on were metal which makes it far less daunting to take a knife to them and the soft metal was easier to clear out than this hard resin too. There were lots of little bits strutting out between bits as well two of note being on on the back of his leg linked to his loincloth and the one on his shoulder pad and back which I missed before getting around to painting it apart from those little bits the main body wasn't too bad. one of the three nubbins you get that hold the pieces of the model didn't require any clean up at all the bit with the holstered guns and half of his full horn.

I was very happy to have started painting him today despite being awkward at poits the figure is a delight to paint, and now it's official...

Gor Half-Horn is now an SD agent :D
Taking a break from it for now will hopefully have him finnished tomorrow.

I started trying to make a homebrewed Ash Waste Nomad gang stats and so on, but it started to look like one or the other gangs, also the old Ash Waste gang had some special rules and skills, so I started to feel like I had do something I should have tried, but considering you Yak guys have been making the updates versions of the old books I was wondering who would you translate the Ash Waste Nomads into the new system?
Never tried playing Ash Waste Nomads and don't know a huge amount about them I would probably make them toughness 4 though.
@Guerre Does Gor come with the cigar or did you take that from the Goliaths?
It's built on the model.

Well, according to rumours Gang war 2 will have expanded trading post. Betcha we'll get the ability to buy armour there.
How many trading posts are we going to have?

Bigger question is do they all supersede each other or can you elect to go to a different one, like going to a different shop?

If they all replace then doesn’t that make it a bit awkward if you have several players with one book/outpost and several with another? Like playing with several different rules versions?

Just asking because this sounds messy(and expensive) to keep up with!!

From what I understand, there is only one trading post. Supplements will only add more items to it.

I think Malo's right that people probably need more experience before they begin making fan-made rules, but AWNs had pretty normal stats, so they shouldn't be too hard to adapt. I'd suggest starting a new thread for it.
Goliaths had pretty normal stats too.

WIP Goliath autogunner :D I reckon you could probably count that as a bolter if you wanted to as well.

After going through my bits box I was surprised how much stuff actually fits the Goliath scale. Their arms are generally a bit bigger than most things but hands seem fairly uniform for a number of model lines. Actually has me interested in making a gang. :)

Anyone got a half helmeted Primaris Reiver head and a Goliath mini handy to get an idea of scale?

I can't take a pic atm, but all SM heads are substantially larger than the Goliath heads - Goliath heads share the same "meatface" structure as Marines, but in terms of size they're still "human". Indeed they're slightly smaller than the old plastic Catachan heads. I'm using the masked Reiver head for my Boss and I had to bump up his size using an Exalted Deathbringer body to get the proportions to match the regular lumpymen gangers.

They've done a really nice job with the scale of the heads and hands on the new Goliaths. Games Workshop usually has a tendency to massively oversize those body parts with their heroic scaling (see the aforementioned Catachans, who were by no means the worst offenders). This actually makes the new models look like they're really stoked up on steroids instead of just being scaled up normal dudes.

Hmm so the Orlocks and the Van Saars have very good armor it seems, and the Delaque leader being equipped with worse armor then the Champions and gangers, good to know.

It is a new game so the proliferation of armor is probably fine.

I mean there is no longer a -1 to hit a person who is running and aiming is now a thing.

So having a 5 or 6 chance to survive the more accurate fire might be needed. It also means the ap stat is actually meaningful instead of a column that is barely worth looking at.
