Getting back into Mordheim

Ostlanders might be okay, but you have the availability of the Ogre, which if you don't take one is fine. I'd make a case for using the Reiklander rules with their increased Leadership range and Ballistic Skill for Marksmen for a Valkyrie warband. I'd also say a Priest of Morr would be a good fit for the Sorceress. Just my two Gold Crowns worth.

I received my boxes of Empire Archers, Missile Troops and Militia from Scramazon yesterday. The Greatswords and Soldiers are coming today. So probably tomorrow I'll start building warbands. I've decided not to recreate my Middenheimers as I can't find the two Youngblood models for a reasonable price on the secondhand market. So, I'll be updating them with a more Empire-ish look (my original Middenheimers were all Milita models, with the two Youngbloods and a plastic wolf). I'll also FINALLY build a Reiklander warband (I was in the process of making one when I quit Mordheim) along with an Ostermark warband (Thanks to @Pagumb for hooking me up with a War Dog!). I have a 3D printed Undead warband coming next month and I'm looking at getting Witch Hunters in the future. So overall I'll be set with a good selection.

Osterlanders might fit conceptually with Valkyries and a Wizard (priest of taal). Russ Norse imagery and theme for skills and weapons, and a "nature wizard" in the priest of Taal. And of course the Norse Explorers are solidly Valkyrie Norse with a werewolf instead of a wizard, but every possibility of pulling in a wizard hired sword (being a human warband and not chaos, there are some Hired Swords and Dramatis Personae that would fill that role easily enough, like the Norse Shaman). Those would be my initial suggestions.
A werewolf, you say? Hmm…. Bombshell does make a lovely werewolf model that I was eyeing…

Hmm…. I guess Marksman could work with their spears?

The idea is Valkyries and a wizard.

I'm not that familiar with the many semi/un-official Mordheim warbands, so can't immediately suggest anything better than fitting them into a counts-as Undead or Possessed list.

Could well work for Frostgrave though.

bumped into these; thought it might interest you;

After a great deal with @Pagumb I got a wolf and some sheilds for my Middenheimers along with an old war dog for use in an Ostermark warband. I've got boxes of the "new" Old World Empire minis and I have an order from Etsy for an Undead warband arriving Tuesday. I'm pretty set now for warbands and after I do a bit of painting today, I'm going to start assembling one of my warbands. Which one, I have NO idea yet. LOL
