I noticed that both Helot and Genestealer cult gangs leader and champion equivelents are missing the group activation key words. Is this intentional? I noticed on Yaktribe the words are absent from their fighter cards too. I know the book of Runin came out before the house gang books but I was wonderinghow people played this oversight? Do players five these gangs the group activation key word or not?

we just asume its should have been FAQed and added to the gangs
I think at that time group activation was a standard rule for leaders/champions, so it didn’t need to be added separately. As far as I am aware most people ignore the oversite and let them do group activations like anyone else.
^^ This (p57 of the Necromunda Rulebook and p31 of Dark Uprising Rulebook). ‘House of…’ books started to bring in the specific leader/champion skill, and the Hive War Rulebook was first rulebook to rephrase the section to match these - Ash Wastes Rulebook followed the new format (p58).
Original wording was:
When a player activates their gang Leader or a Champion (or the equivalent rank in gangs that use other titles for these fighters),
they can choose to activate additional Ready fighters that are within 3” of them when they activate at the same time as part of a
Group Activation.
- A Leader may activate two additional Ready fighters within 3” of them at the start of their Activation.
- A Champion may activate one additional Ready fighter within 3” of them at the start of their Activation.
If a Leader or Champion is activated in this way, they may not perform a Group Activation themselves!
The controlling player must nominate all of the fighters who will be activated in this way before any of them are activated. The
controlling player must make it clear to their opponent which fighter is leading the Group Activation, be they the Leader or a
Champion.
So, until updated, play as that.
I think they changed it after HOC came out because it introduced the first champion without group activation.
