With the changed to the Genestealer Cultists, what are you new loadouts for.

Leader types and Acolytes?

The Rock Drill seems to be a nicer choice for Acolyte now, as the extra arm gives a rending attack with the drill, without breaking the bank.
I ran 2 infiltration Acolytes, as most did.

List now.

I'm tempted to load up the leader and initial 2 champs with heavy weapons, for long term survivability and steady income.

Problem now is my entire gang is modelled according to the old rules:
  • Models that look like Leader have short range / close combat weapons
  • Models that look like acolytes have short range / close combat weapons
  • Models that look like neophyte gangers have basic weapons / heavy weapons
So if the models are going to represent type by appearance (less confusion), there's gonna be the front-line suicide charge tactics as before, without any heavy weapons. Or, if I ignore what type the models represent (big confusion), there's gonna be better equipped making the elite stay far back with long range weapons and let the gangers (leader/acolyte models) do the front-line suicide charging.

I always prefer using models as what they represent, but switching it around makes a much easier game, allowing for less risk when using the cool close combat models on the front line.

That would be a complete nightmare. I gave up 40k 10 years ago after starting to magnetize tank sponsons, jump packs and special weapons...

I got a bit obsessed with magnetism.
You'll just have to bow down the the Geedub wish and buy more of their models. Or use skill rings.

As sensible as as giving the Alpha a long range weapon is, I can't help but want to give him duel hand flamers and run & gun. With a familiar or two by his side for protection; a longlas overwatch Acolyte to snipe heavy weapons and an Acolyte armed with a seismic cannon to pin potential threats he can just dash across the board flaming the crap out of everything and allow Neophytes with autoguns and shotguns to blast away at blazed opponents!

Did anyone else notice the Seismic Cannon gained Knockback?
I'm swapping that out. Abby can whistle for his armour now, those creds are needed elsewhere.

The Willpower and Cool bubble just doesn't seem worth taking.
Mind Control and Assail are awesome, though they do require an amount of risk in the distance.

I really like the idea of mind control I have to say. Keeping a nine inch bubble around your leader because they don't want to shoot their own guys
