Hello, I am 7 games in to playing Necromunda so am very green and have recently brought in some grenades for my gang. I have a question about when you throw and miss the target as the different people I am playing with have applied different interpretations to the miss rule. I have gone along with what they have suggested and in neither case did it make a huge difference so this is not coming from a place of bitter post game wrangling. Here is the first interpretation I played with.

1. You aim at enemy and.... miss. You then roll 1D6 and the arrow dice to determine the scatter. This is then applied from the target you are aiming at. For example: I roll a miss so I then roll for scatter. Let's say the arrow roll is in the same direction as the original throw so it points straight beyond the target and the distance is 6 inches. This results in an overthrow six inches beyond my target.

2. You throw and miss. You roll for scatter and direction. You roll D3 and the arrow dice points straight away from my figure in the direction it is facing. You then apply the missed throw not from my target but from my own figure. This results in the grenade being thrown 3 inches in front of my figure.

Which is the correct interpretation?

Thanks

The first one.
It is not actually a grenade thing it applies to all Blast trait effects. See the blast section in the main rules.
