For anyone wanting to take aquarium plants to a higher level (painted), I did

I was getting most of my aquarium plants on AliExpress, but have not bought any since the tariffs started. Should be fine if you are outside the US.

You really put a lot of character into these pieces. Can't wait to see the minis painted up.

@timdp nivce idea with the plants , thinking i will try a heavy wash and matte spray first as i have a laod of plants , but if that dooesnt work will have paint em up. the glossyness is just too distarcting
@cainex1 , "i'm a story teller and the strories that i tell ...." yeah looking forewards to that but gonna make some scenery forst oi think.

Thanks mate , yeah i think that was my ambition with it , i wanted to see a canopy of trees but be gameable and diorma like for photos , was one of the hardest table builds i have ever done will never attempt it again , but glad it complete now

@radulykan i really wanted to make a bunch of scorched ground and felled tress around that base , but didnt really have the energy to do more , so really happy to hear that.

Aye up finally manage to get up some Jungle board wips , thought i had more pics tbh , but must have deleted some by mistake .

"A few WIPs from the jungle board build. For this board, I wanted to get dense foliage but have the board be playable. I also wanted scatter as opposed to one huge diorama board. So the compromise was multiple small, medium, to large individual pieces. That way I could concentrate on each narrative diorama piece one at a time so as to not get overwhelmed by it all. I initially wanted to cover a 4x4 area, but this increased to 4x6 due to the amount of scatter I had at hand. I had decided to make each scatter piece navigable as opposed to just line of sight blocking, which many jungle boards seem to do. Therefore, each scatter piece had multiple entrances and exits, although these were mostly obscured with the foliage by the end of the process. I really wanted to get the overgrown, disorienting feeling of a mass of jungle but still be able to move miniatures around. With that in mind, I tried to make the foliage overhang each board edge so when two boards were pushed close, they would make a natural path in between. This increased the amount of possible variations

Cheers , yeah they are cheap and work quite well to give good canopy , i used a burnt umber oil wash dip, then superglue and flock to cover the trunk. also added a thick root system with some paper wrapped wire cover in glue and flock
