Stars are usually small dotted by toothpick or brush. The nebula's I did (the image with 4) was just trying to copy the image.
Otherwise basically just flow it and have fun with the canvas and colours.
Like the purple on the eldar, just going with a purple colour back and forth while wet over the base creating several shades.
Or the blue on the Helians just watery blue flowing out and adding different tones until satisfied.
