Hi, I'm going to uy some mastercrafted weapons for my Escher gang soon and was just wondering how I can add these on Yaktribe. Someone on FB told me it's possible to do this using the customize tool on Yaktribe https://yaktribe.games/necromunda/custom but I haven't been able to figue out how to do it. It seems like the specials do not have Mastercrafted as an option, and there's no way to add cost... Can anyone help me with this?

If you’re trying to make the weapon for the newer N17 version then you’ve linked to the incorrect tool section. We have two sections, one for original Necro and one for the new.
Here’s the link for the N17 (also called ‘Underhive’ in the tools) https://yaktribe.games/underhive

To create a custom weapon like a master crafted Lasgun, follow these steps-

Underhive tools >Customise >Custom weapon stats.

Click the blue ‘add’ button in the top right corner. From this drop down, we can create and name the weapon profile (for example, Master Crafted Lasgun), and input the weapon stats. These are the same as the normal weapon basically, as master crafted isn’t a weapon trait and doesn’t change anything about the regular weapon except for its price [edit- since the House Of… book series, Mastercrafted is now a weapon trait].

Next we need to create the actual item, so we go to-

Underhive tools >Customize >Custom equipment.

Click the blue ‘add’ button in the top right corner. From this drop down we will create the actual item entry as it will appear in your weapons lists.

Name the weapon (Master Crafted Lasgun for our example), and calculate the cost (basic + 25%, rounded up to nearest 5. For a Lasgun, this means add 5 to its basic cost, so the total cost would be 10 for Escher if using their House list price, or 15 + 5 = 20cr if you don’t, or for any other house).
The ‘section’ drop down determines where this weapon profile will appear. Although it’s a status weapon, I would put it in ‘basic weapons’ but you can put it where you want. Remember though that this determines which drop down box you will find the weapon in when you try to add it to a fighter.
Set the weapons rarity, and then select the weapon stats. Look for your custom ‘master crafted’ version of the weapon. We could simply use the regular version of the weapon stats but if we do, the weapon won’t appear as ‘master crafted’ on the fighters card, though it will appear as master crafted on the detailed fighter screen.

Set ruleset to global, shared to ‘campaign’ or ‘friends’ as appropriate (this allows others you play with to use the weapon entry), and set the campaign availability restriction to ‘none’ if you want it to be available in all campaigns, or if it is a weapon specific to a custom campaign choose the campaign you want it to appear in.

And that’s it! The weapon profile will now be available to buy under whichever drop down you selected during the ‘section’ step.

Hope this helps!

Thanks buddy! Thanks for taking the time to write this all down, I appreciate it!

However, when I follow your steps - click on the link, click on Customize, click on Custom Equipment, I get to the exact URL as I originally posted - with the caveat that the Specials are indeed the same as in N18. But I cannot find where to enter the rarity level or the cost of the weapon. Can you point me to it? Here's as screenshot...

Is abracadabra to me.... :( Sorry! I'm a Yaktribe noob and have no idea...

Your link is for the tools for the older version of the game. The tools look similar but trust me, they’re different (y)

When you set the stats you select a stat profile from a drop down. You need to select your master crafted profile that you made in the previous step.

You could also select just the basic Lasgun profile from the drop down and it would import the correct stats over but the weapon would show as a regular Lasgun on your fighters card.

The final settings should be-

Name > Master Crafted Lasgun
Cost > 10cr
Section > Basic OR Status weapons
Rarity > (whatever master crafted rarity is)
Stats > Master Crafted Lasgun
Ruleset > Global
Shared > Friends
Campaign > None

Ahhhh YES! I got it and it worked. Sorry, it turned out you did write it all down correctly and I got cross-eyed. Thanks so much for the support!
No problem at all, I probably could have been clearer but I tried to give a little explanation of what the fields mean to help figure out what everything is doing, it may have swamped the basic info you needed lol!
It looks like it’s a lot when it’s written down but once you’re into the tools and have used them a bit it becomes more straightforward.

Any further issues just give us a shout!

Thanks for all this! I know it was a while ago, but I'm just needing to do it for a campaign now.

So, I created ad Master-crafted Boltgun, just fine, and it works. But now I need to make a Master-crafted Shotgun, and I don't know how to make the multiple ammo profiles for it and link them both to the single item. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks.

Im afraid not. When a normal shotgun is selected for a fighter the tools basically apply two separate profiles to the one weapon. Alas, the custom tools don’t allow this so you would have to create a single entry for each ammo profile and add it to the Ganger as if they are separate weapons. I’d suggest adding the cost of the weapon to one profile, for example the ‘Master Crafted Shotgun- Solid’ profile, and make the ‘Master Crafted Shotgun- Scatter’ profile have a cost of zero.
Remember, for the weapon/ammo profile to appear as Master Crafted on the fighter card, you must create a custom profile for the weapon/ammo. Any pre-made weapon profile selected in the custom item section (a weapon profile without an asterisk) overrides the name of the item on the fighter card. For example, you can’t just create an item called ‘Master Crafted Shotgun- Solid’ and use the pre-made profile for ‘Shotgun- Solid’ as this will appear on the fighter card printout as ‘Shotgun- Solid’. You must first create a custom weapon profile identical to the solid and scatter profiles, but name them ‘Master Crafted (x)’ in order to have the correct weapon name appear.

@Malo, how difficult would it be to add additional fields to the weapon profile selector section of the create custom item tool to group different profiles together under one weapon name? Plasma and shotguns are already doing this in the tools, would be cool if this function was available for custom weapons too!
