Hi all! I have just comeback from Manky meet and absolutely loved the weekend of dedicated, narrative gaming. I was putting out my feelers with this thread to see if people would be interested in doing something similar with INQ28.

I would be looking to do it in the North of England and wanted to go whole hog, in the vein of Mare Solum or Rhossum Secundus. I'm talking custom setting (dreamt up here), full table of mission specific scenery and obviously a hand made platoon each.

Edit: I will now be using this post to track where we are up to on this mammoth undertaking.

So, to avoid any further dilly dallying on setting so we can get on with organising supplies.

Conjunction of Lumeria

Ominous portents are in the air in the Carthaxian sector as the grand conjunction approaches in the system of Lemuria Minoris. It's three planets will fall in line for what is believed to be the first time in tens of thousands of years.

The planetary governor Horaldus Quagmourn has declared the celestial event a national holiday, with festivals and parades planned for the week leading up to the momentous occasion.

However, rumour and superstition are rife within the imperial citizenry. Some believe the dead will rise, others that the former planets masters will return. There are as many claims as there are citizens but the one that has reached your ears involves a massive psychic awakening, of who... or perhaps what is unclear. Something about this knowledge pulls on your mind and you are drawn inexorably towards the outmost planet. Lemuria III.

You arrive in time for the opening celebrations and as the first 2 days of merry making pass you by it seems your suspicions were unfounded. However, as the planets begin to align on the third day, so begins a descent into madness. The revelers start to become violent, laughing as they fight in the streets. Large piles of people perform lude acts in the streets. You do your best to stay safe and find out what is causing the madness.

By day four things have gotten massively out of hand, you see tars of joy creep down a man's face as he begins carving profane ruins into his chest. The citizenry are openly fornicating in the streets whilst bleeding themselves and each other. The rumours you heard were clearly true. Something of monstress psychic power and malicious intent is approaching, you can feel it pressing at the corners of your mind. You must find it.

Conjunction of Lumeria will be a one day Inquisitor event and will take place across 5 games. Feel free to represent whichever faction you wish with between one and three models. Bring whoever will be fun to play and fun to play against. You made need a couple of substitutes sat safe in your lander incase things get hairy.

Game 1 A Search For Answers

The first game will see your warband looking for answers on this cursed planet, either through legitimate means or underhand ones.

Table 1 is the imperial governors audience chamber. Go to the man himself and ask for answers.

Table 2 and 3 are the slums to the East and West of the governors Palace. Rumour has it a hidden entrance leads to the catacombs beneath the palace where all of the Quagmourn family secrets are held.

Game 2 Searching the Crypt

Beneath the palace is where all the old knowledge is kept. Evade the guards, steal the secrets and get out with your ass in one piece.

Game 3 Get to the Chopper

Warbands race across the city to liberate space worthy crafts with the aim of reaching the soon to translate space hulk.

Game 4 Canibals... IN SPACE!!!

Now safely aboard the hulk it's a race against time and your fellow antagonists to reach the entity that calls you to its core.

Game 5 Corridor of Madness

As you approach the epicentre of this malevolence, vile warp energies twist and bend reality. You must conquer vicious beasts and madness itself to get to the heart of the hulk.

Game 6 In the Lair of the Beast

You find yourself at the heart of a vile and twisted demonic rite. Here you must make your final choice, help or hinder.

Supplies. To be updated. Pick a thing, build the thing. When all the things are built we can look at a date. Let us know IN THIS THREAD when you start building the thing so we don't waste our collective time building 200 cultists :) I'll update this post so we can see where we are.

Game 1
Two separate boards worth of standard 40k buildings and jazz. (I have one already @prewarsalad) One more needed.
Impererial Palace of Quagmourn. Potentially @Trafalgar Law
20 PDF (Mordian Iron Guard) @Trafalgar Law

Game 2

A whole bunch of tunnels and a big room full of books and cogitators. We can use the same tunnels I am gonna build for the hulk.

Game 3
Generic necromunda board. We can reuse the buildings from game 1 but we do need(?) a landing pad @Scavvierising and a flyer or two @NonCavemanDan.
Game 4
Big ass space hulk board by @prewarsalad. Scatter terrain can be stolen from places. Clues need to be decided on and placed around the board. Space canibals by @NonCavemanDan.

Game 5
This is the one I think will be the most fun. I would like everyone to make 2 small tiles each. Filled with horrible warpy nastyness and they get revealed at random.

Game 6
The big bads big reveal should be somewhere pretty gross. We can probably get away with loads of necro terrain from the previous games but we really need a big altar/rock thing.

Rogues Gallery

@CaptainDangerous Thorian Inquisitor
@Fantasticaldave Ordo Hereticus/scabby mercenaries

I'd be interested, but I'd need to look over my available miniatures and the rules again; we'd also have to figure out when and where exactly it would actually take place (Durham, Newcastle, Other?), and whether there would be enough people for a hotel venue or if we'd need to see who had a house big enough to run the event.

That is precisely what this thread is for. I would have thought between 4 and six people would probably be the best group size. What sort of story would you want for the campaign? I was mulling over the idea a ship haunted by daemons of the warp.

A ship adrift in the warp, the last vestiges of the psykers on board either dead, driven insane by the Chaos cults or found to have enough force of will to hide cowering in the patchwork bubbles of a malfunctioning Gellar Field device along with the few (un)lucky survivors, banding together with what few resources and supplies are available, along with The Emperor knows what else, to try and survive...

Ooh! This I like.

We could run it like a survival horror! Everyone gets just a few models and has to pick their way trough the possessed ship, looting corpses and supplies as they go. Trying not to be butchered or driven insane by the warp entities.

We'd probably have to look at a wandering events table a la Mordheim to streamline it somewhat, but it sounds good.

Are you talking inquisitor in 28mm or inquisimunda here? Both have an appeal. Although I've never really delved into either of them.

Give us a chance precious, give us a chance!
I havnt even had time to write the last one up!! :p

I can’t commit to anything just yet, but I will be watching with interest! :)

Given the nature of having to devise everything from the ground up and build a whole table it would be off in the future like.

If we are playing with small teams and using corruption and sanity it would probably be best to use the inquisitor rule set.

That said nothing is concrete at the moment and feel free to fling ideas into the mix. I do like the idea of a warp breech mind. Maybes it takes place in a mining colony?

If we do end up doing a dungeon crawl I thought it would be fun to design a couple of rooms each and then reveal them one at a time at random.

To be fair, you could always work corruption and sanity as T and LD tests; I've not looked over inquisitor rules for corruption and sanity, but dark heresy rules divided by 16 (to convert d100 to d6) might be a jumping off point to consider.

Generating tables should fairly straightforward given pre-existing tables in other systems that can be adapted to the needs of the setting/campaign.

A one day narrative campaign could be pretty cool!
Realistically, most folks play three games in a day with a shootout and/or special scenario squeezed in. But if those games were pre determined and/or had a very fluffy path to travel, it could make for a spectacular day!
(And I wouldn’t need to take a day off work 😁 )

TRIBEMEET NORTH EAST! WOOP WOOP!

Long time lurker first time poster - would be up for some Inq28 / Inquisimunda. Think a day built round a scenario / narrative element would be awesome. Theres a lot of cross over in the Inquisitor and Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader character classes. Depending on the number of people and classes involved you could probably develop a great day.

For example, based on the drifting ship idea; 4 people, with say 3 people in each "gang".... The groups come across a derelict floating in orbit around a dead world ravged by war on the edge of the halo stars, they must each decide how to proceed... they can work together to investigate, try and double cross one another or attack one another to try and discover the secrets of the ship.
You could split the day into a series of encounters; a pair of 2 player games followed by an all play, then a "final mission"... or something like that.

(Ive been playing the blackstone fortres game recently, and boy its a good narrative game, so this and my enjoyment of pen & paper RPGs may have influenced this somewhat!)

Space derelict... Or haunted mining colony!?
