Inquisimunda Genestealer Coven Warbands

I have a lot of ideas about how to run a genestealer cult and would be interested in trying to develop a working outline.

Put finger to keyboard then my good man! Chuck up an intial idea/sketch up of a list if you would then like feedback on it. Then we can develop it enough to put into the next revision of the Imunda CE :)

Here is my version 1.

I have not included a mechanism for using a genestealer to implant an opposition ganger using its oviposter. Possibly captured gangers could be turned using a mechanism similar to receptionists to represent this feature of purestrains?

By the way, the reason the 2nd/3rd gen hybrids get heavy weapons and brood brothers and 4th gens don't is to match up with the hybrids from the Space Hulk game Deathwing/Genestealer expansion.

In an old issue of Citadel journal, when a ganger was implanted with the stealer gene they were 'released' back into their gang with 'implanted' as their stated injury. Before each gang fight, the ganger rolled a d6. On a 1 he/she leaves the gang permanently to start up his own little stealer family. I always liked that rule, annoying if your heavy does a runner but fluff wise it was awesome. If it happened to a Spyrer then surely he strips off his gear to go and fornicate with the proletariat! I'd like to see this rule in the game. Also rather than letting a purestrain implant it's enemies willy nilly on the battlefield, how about implanting only captured enemy models. In that way the gang can mount a rescue mission before the horny old Stealer gets the scented candles and Barry white CD on. After that, the ovipositor is going in like it or not!

That last line reminds me of the Cain short story where the 'stealer cult runs a brothel to infect as many guardsmen as possible.

Also, I take it you've all seen the news of the boardgame going on pre-order this weekend? 'stealer cult vs Deathwatch. On a purely practical note, it might be worth considering the models and units there, because that's no doubt what most of us will be using to create gangs. :)

I was thinking about the Patriarch and purestrains. One of the problems with previous attempts at 'stealer cults in Necromunda was how to handle giving genestealers experience; either they start out with ordinary 'stealer stats and end up ridiculous, or they start out crap.

I was thinking that they could be treated like some sort of hired gun, and the Patriarch as a special character like the Spyrer Matriarch/Patriarch, that will only turn up if the cult is really outclassed.
