Inquisimunda V2.0 - IG Kill Team List

Oh, also. Hunting Rifle is in the IG Kill Team list, but is only available to assassins. Kill Teams can't have hired guns. Why is the hunting rifle there/marked with assassin only? The same goes for Needle Pistol, Needle Rifle and Blade Venom.

Actually, there is a lot in there marked as only usable by classes that don't exist in the Kill Team list. I think this list needs another overhaul before we can call it finished for 2.0 because this don't make sense.

2. Only available to Assassins
3. Only available to Tech-Adepts
4. Only available to Acolytes/Interrogator
5. Only available to Interrogators

good that someone noticed ;)

It is normal, the weapons & equipement listing is a C&P from the Inquisition cell list, as it all reworked due to the new costing methodology.

So I know Sweeman brought this up already kinda, but I noticed it says for the subs doctrine they have to choose penal as their second doctrine. Is this a typo from an older version, or is this what we are going for?

So, I'm not sure if the original philosophy of "clean up, not rewrite" still applies to 2.1. Personally I don't think this list needs any changes, apart from the nomenclature cleanup, unless we want to add grenadiers as a doctrine. Thoughts?

I thought it was fresh new guy, but for one of our player, when a juniors f-up... It means... F'in no good...

I suspect Whiteshield wasn't used because of how obscure it is. To my awareness it only ever appeared in one White Dwarf article and the resulting compilation book, fairly early in the Rogue Trader days, and has gone unmentioned in fluff since.

It's also seemingly quite specific to the Rogue Trader-era, 'Necromundan Spiders', specific military culture - from when the Guard was a very homogeneous entity quite unlike what it is today. Hell, it was still called the Imperial Army at the time.

You might be right there. However, we do get a lot of questions of what FNG actualy stands for, or what they are. Whiteshields are mentioned in
  • Codex: Eye of Terror (3rd Edition)
  • Codex: Imperial Guard (5th Edition), p. 37
  • Warhammer 40,000: Compendium (2nd Edition), pp. 41, 44-45
The definition, according to 40k Wikia, is perfect for the Juve of the IG.
"Whiteshields" or Conscript Platoons are units of the Imperial Guard that consist of normal Imperial citizens with little or no military training, new Guard recruits who have not yet entered training, children of an already extant regiment's troops or standing Guardsmen who have not yet completed their training.

So, I'm gona pick up an old subject here. Probably not the right thread, but maybe someone can answer at least. Was it intentional that ratlings can't have special weapons and ogryns can't have heavy weapons? It seems very reasonable to not have an ogryn with a longlas or a ratling with a heavy bolter, but ratlings that don't have access to sniper rifles? To me that just seems plain stupid. That's all they're good for in the guard. Also, as pointed out, ogryns/bullgryns have grenade launchers (and armor/shields aswell), but not in this version? Sure, they're tougher to kill, especially with a couple of raises, but they're also a LOT more expensive to buy. Ogryns need more dakka!!1!

Ogryns & Ratlings have basic weapons rules included in their profile. They can only access basic weapons to prevent Op Ogryn & Ratling with a missile launcher or assault canon ...

I think maybe take that to the main thread? Not sure about the justification for ratlings not having access to special weapons but with ogryns it's the fact that they just can't maintain/will smash by accident any weapon other than cc weapons and Ripper guns. With bullgryns I imagine the logistical train of the munitorum allows them to be equipped with more sophisticated gear just before battle, but no small warband would have the dozens of servants required per ogryn to pull that off.
It's an interesting question though - in various 40k novels one sees ogryn equipped with heavy weapons, including a plasma cannon in ravenor rogue. Maybe you want to write up an expensive piece of wargear called a cerebral enhancer, that lets ogryn take normal weapon choices for their rank? Possibly only available if your unit has a tech priest; and any non-ogryn weapons must be returned to the stash if the techpriest dies or retires?

I put it down to the ratling having access to a hunting rifle... but if that isn't enough then I could easily see him getting special access to a longlas/special sniper like the ogryn has access to the ripper gun...

Yep it's pretty strange considering every ratling models are snipers if I recall correctly. A note giving them access to the hunting rifle (and maybe assassin rifle) would make sense.

They already have access to the hunting rifle though... unless Imunda moved it from basic to special and I missed it...
