I m not sure and i can't tell if it's true. All i know is that ashes waste box was on the shelves of my local GW for months. So some truth here, maybe?

But also there is a new apogryphia to dowload release today. Odd for a supposed dying game

Feast of Heretics

So what are you thoughts on that?

Not to be too much of a grognard, but while I’ve enjoyed seeing the new models and stuff, the new version of Necromunda was DOA for me. It’s priced right out of my comfort zone. Box sets especially. So while I have my doubts about it dying any time soon, the original did a slow decline that took awhile, but it never went away. Just look at Yaktribe!

I agree that the Ash Wastes boxed set has probably not sold that well. I don’t remember it ever being out of stock on the GW website and resellers seem to have always had plentiful stock of it. As the video creator says this is probably due to the high price point, though also the content of the box. Whoever wanted Orlocks probably already had them when the box was released. As for Ash Waste Nomads, GW release a supplement for vehicle combat and one of the factions rides around on the back of giant fleas. Great….

Regardless of whether the box has sold well or not this doesn’t mean that Underhive, or even the Ash Wastes, has been a flop. One boxed set does not encompass the whole setting. As the video creator also said Dark Uprising didn’t seem to sell well either and both GW and Forgeworld have been creating content for Underhive long after the box was discontinued.

In summary: Those of us who are not GW employees don’t have enough information to say whether Necromunda is a financial success or not.

Their premise is flawed. They conflate the sale of some box sets of GW with the success of the whole game and ignore that many people might play it without ever buying any GW set for it.

Over the past 7 years I bought only three dedicated Necromunda items, one of them second hand.
Yet I'm building a 4th gang and have terrain for 1,5 Tables and play semi-regularly.
So how dead is Necromunda? By GW sales statistics very much. In reality...

I haven’t watched the video (mostly because I’m having a coffee at a McD’s on my way home) but I think that’s most likely not true.

Why?

Well because of all of the updates and contents GW has pushed out recently, like this last month.

If it gets no updates for a year then yeah, be a little worried.

As for Ash Wastes which I see mentioned above - look, it was very expensive at a time when people are strapped for cash, despite being promoted as almost “Necromunda meets Mad Max” (At least by fans, though GW did hint at it initially) it contained almost no vehicles. I think people were expecting a Speed Freaks style release.

Then after it was brought by some the rules came out publicly and more people were put off.

I just think they bungled the release TBH. It wasn’t what people wanted or expected and had been “nicke and dimed” yet again like the 2017-18 releases. Poor show GW.

Excellent Point about "Speed Freaks" i thought about that when they announced the release. I almost bought that boxe with Necromunda in mind.

Here’s a crazy idea, but if GW had released Ash Wastes in a sort of Smokey and the Bandit or even Dukes of Hazzard style (or even Convoy) it would’ve done better.

So ditch the scenery no-one asked for which pushed up the price and put in:

The two Orlock buggies and a Cargo-8 for them. Then ditch the Nomads for a proper later release and put in the Enforcers with two of the new vehicle they’ve just got along with a penal wagon (who knows what) and a sprue each of troops and you’re done.
