If that's an hour to paint one, then a lot of that will be fiddling around swapping paints and brushes, etc. It should be less than ten hours to paint ten in a batch.
Thanks guys! I’m quite pleased with the result. I also finished a Kasrkin yesterday (in my usual non-speed painting manner), and next to each other they look quite alright, I think. Certainly shouldn’t be too noticeable on the table.
The Kasrkin are big, though. Still think that fits for Elites, they do stand out.

The Empire of Man would not be the first human organisation to recruit people of a certain size into elite units. Wilhelm the I of Prussia supposedly went so far as to have exceptionally tall men of other countries kidnapped so he could recruit them into his personal guard.
Also, as was pointed out in other threads, wargaming humans tend to be much more uniform in size than real people, that size difference there looks close to that of me (1.82m) and my giant of a brother in law (2.12m).
I happen to know two guys, both in the home guard, who served in the same squad for some time. One's slightly shorter than 1.65m, the other a hair over 2m. There should probably be more variance in model sizes, but it's pretty obviously not feasible for sprue design.

Best wishes for the New Year to all! Life happened, so did not have as much painting time as usual. Still managed to produce a few more guardsmen. The new transfer sheet includes tiny “Cadia Stands” graffiti, kill markers etc., really characterful additions.
And here’s all Cadians so far - it’s not much yet in terms of a Guard army, but we’re getting somewhere.

I think I may just paint him up as a Catachan in case we ever get more Catachan models or as a display piece, but there is a case to be made to use him as the “Castellan” bfor my Cadians instead. Thoughts?

As promised, paint! Still very WIP, but satisfied with the basic colour, at least.

Tank’s done! That took quite a lot of work but was really fun. My biggest model so far not counting terrain.
Had to hold myself back a bit adding transfers, the new vehicle transfer sheet has a lot of interesting markings, but I didn’t to make it too cluttered…

It’s been a while again! I return with another guardman, and 2 sentinels:
my initial goal is to finish a 1000 point army to take to Warhammer World end of April. Counting my 2 squads worth of Kriegers as part of the army, I now still have 10 regular Guardsmen, 4 Kasrkin, a 5-man command squad, a commissar, a castellan and an Ogryn bodyguard to go - 22 models in total. I think I can make it…

Yes great attention to detail and the blend of colours on the vehicles works really well. There are some really talented artists in the Yak.
I’m going to be playing Star Wars Legion this weekend, needed a few more models painted for a 500pt Skirmish force. Here’s some of them, a Scout Trooper strike team, pushed out in one evening:
Damn fine job for a single evenings endevours. A nice take on the usual white uniform. It looks like they are under moonlight or something. Quite striking.
