KaptainDangerous' Orkapades

Awesome. They look so good with paint on. Less like a pile of bits and more like actual ships. The Terror Ship in particular gives off strong AEC Matador vibes.

I work it out to be about 900-950 points depending on upgrades and which escorts you use them as. Not a bad little fleet. If you plan on expanding, a couple more escorts would be ideal.

How about 40!?!:

Many thanks again to imperial admiral Radulykan and his unyielding making machine! Each ship is individual!!
Hopefully it won’t take me another 6 years, but I will try to sort them into shapes/sizes and then paint them each with 1 of 4 accent colours. That way I can have any combo and tell them apart at a glance (…or cheat? Whatever?)

That's a proppa pile of ships, although I'm a little disgusted that you're not painstakingly hand-crafting 40 escorts from expensive plastic bits.

Rather than size or shape (as two Ork ships could look very different but have the same weapons), the best categories to sort them into would be main weapon category:

Torpedoes
Gunz
Big Gunz
Rams

I had actually begun to make moulds of the ones I had made, but fell short of time when discovering my mil Iput had gone off.
upon telling rad my predicament, it didn’t take much encouragement for him to fire up the 3d printer, and my fleet suddenly exploded in size! One in the hand is worth two in the warp as they say! But in this particular case the one In the hand has far outdone anything the warp could have produced!

to elaborate my sorting:
rams= spikey/ aggressive
torpedoes = slender/looted
big guns = big ships
guns = the rest

i want abit tactical flexibility, so the fact they all look miss matched is something that I love!

Danger fleets’ test to Destruction:

Da Kaptin gets a communication from sun chaos boys that there is a juicy imperial fleet heading through a gas cloud! The perfect place for an ambush!

The Krump-It gets seperated from free rest of the fleet by torpedo fire. The kaptin has ultimate faith in his lads and heads toward the main imperial line.

The fleets pass, The Kaptains faith being very unfounded, the imperial ships are virtually untouched despite a point blank hulk explosion!

just a quick note, the ork cruisers go on large flying bases, anything with 10 hit points does. hope to see your efforts soon Kaptin :)
This is not correct. A ship with 11 or more hits or with 3 or more shields must go on a large base.

A capital ship with 10 hits or less may choose to go on a large base.
The Ork Grunt escort is the only escort which goes on a large base.

aha

thats good to know.

:sleep:

Reading the community edition rules for BFG it looks like I could opt to employ aspect warrior boarding parties to bolster the chances of pulling-off a boarding action tho...

:sneaky:
?
The official Craftworld Eldar rules have aspect warriors listed.
So, to which community rules are you referring?
