Hi everyone!

New Kickstarter campaign to design post apocalyptic scenery for 3D printing! We are two 3D designers working from Barcelona and this is our first attempt at producing scenery.

At Thunder Chrome we want to offer you the chance to fill up your tables with amazingly detailed post apocalyptic scenery at a ridiculously cheap price. We want you to say goodbye to balsa wood and glue. Say hello to 3D printing, say hello to Thunder Chrome. Here is the link to the campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/project...er-chrome-3d-printable-post-apocalyptic-scene

If you have a 3D printer and you are into post apocalyptic wargames this is your chance to fill up your table with modular buildings that can be printed over and over again. Our models are designed to work for 28-32mm scale but they can be scaled up and down at will. We have three pledge levels (20-40-60 euros) and in each of them you get several models to combine and stack. Our Facebook page has all the information about us and we post every update there for you to follow.

Kind regards,

Matías

I can help provide information about printers, I sell 3d printers for a living and also sell 3d printed terrain. :p Your scenery looks awesome Thunderchrome, good job. We should have a chat about you licensing your terrain to me to distribute in Canada and the US :D

You're welcome. I do the convention circuit and sell full game boards. More options are never bad and I think we could both profit.

Out of curiosity what software is best to use for designing? Have experience with autocad (showing my age I know) and tribon but not a clue what would be best for 3d printing. Is it a 3d print specific software or can you import from the likes of cad and tribon?
Any help and information would be great as I've got some ideas that I need to brain fart:)

Personally I would go for a CAD (any) software for the basics and then use Blender for texturing but it is up to you. Depending on the complexity of the model you want to "fart out" you may want to go in one or other direction.

Best regards

This is the final result of our modular system. The bodies, roofs and floors of the containers are printed independently so you can create 16 possible combinations. Together with the support model that you can see below the container you can create multi level structures linked by catwalks to an infinite junk town like the one proposed here.

We will be opening our web store soon and we are thinking of accepting orders for physical products, just in case you don't own a 3D printer. Hope you like it!

Do you have a website for those of us who aren't on ye old book of faces?

edit, sorry just re read your post, let us know when you have your site up ad running :)

Hi Matias,

Spafe above mentioned this post to me and ive had a look at your kickstarter. Looks fantastic! We have 2 3D printers in my office and they are used all the time.

Do you by any chance have a file i can test? Nothing too large, just one of your parts to see the model integrity. Even a barrel or something along those lines.

Ill keep an eye on the webstore. Please post up here when its done - id be very interested in purchasing some files.
