I am working on adding additional language support alongside some major updates, as this required re-coding with phrase support for the tools and basically every hard coded word used everywhere. You'll understand why ill be using more iconographic actions than before!

I have this functioning on the new version of the site as of today and it's working well. I really wanted to get the structure in place to support it on the new site with my intentions for it, even if it takes a long time to do other languages.

The first additional language I'll be supporting is Deutsche (Du) and to start, as of right now I've added that language support to the forums which is available to you under your Preferences. It is by no means complete but all the core functionality of the Xenforo system should be supported, and I'll add the Vault as well soon. Note this only translates function text, it won't translate any actual content of course.

I'd love some feedback from any German folks here on the forum support I've added. I'd also eventually like to share a spreadsheet of phrases that will need translation for the new version.

Hm, I sure could try and help with translations, but I don't see a point of offering a german interface when the content is still english. The thing is germans receive all the education they'd need to understand the english content and a majority of wargamers should be intelligent enough to have understood the basic language. But those who claim having to read german think it's exhausting to read english and are more or less too lazy to get into training. From my experience that crowd isn't very grateful i.e. they could feel tricked to visit by the face value of a german site with the effect of them giving negative feedback in general and/or not returning at a later time to find extended content.
It would be a good offer though having the additional rules in german, as the terms are different in some cases, so you can't necessarily apply additional rules without tweaking when using the german rulebooks. I'd start there before changing the software, because even if navigation was in english, it would still be very similar to most german boards or portals.

Well I've been asked on several occasions to convert the Necromunda tools to German. The content here on the forum would still be in english yes but potentially you could have a completely Deustche experience within the tools itself, aside from the actual names of equipment, skills, territories etc. (though the descriptions could contain translations).

Any other opinions from non-english native speakers here on YakTribe?

Yeah, the tools aren't that present to me atm, because I don't have a chance to play. That would help of course, but can't the terms be patched either? Because that's like said a thing differing in the rulebooks and on gang sheets and probably a reason people ask.

Of course I will help. Even if I don't see the need for a german interface (like @KRVSH explained).

as I went to my Preferences and set the interface language I noticed a small typo, you did use "Du" as short for Deutschland(Germany) it should read "De" or Deu" as "Du" is short for Dutch.

at first glance: all forum functions like quote buttons, like buttons got correctly translated
even the buttons for editing your reply (bolt, itallic, underline,...) got translated.

not every title (?) got translated.
Malo is now a "Mitarbeiter" (=staff member) but his second title is still "yak Founder" (=Gründer)

I'll have a look at the gang creation tool later this evening.

Gang creation tool hasn't been touched for languages, only the forums themselves.

It's Deutsch (du) as in Du vs Sie (informal vs formal business)
