I agree with @MedMos that multiple pistols is rather part of the trope. And it's not as though he can reload on his own!

The issue is more the combination of single hand and weapon position, I think. If you can swap the position of the hook-side holster with the sword then both will be in reach of his hand and look viable.

I was going to encourage you to stick with the sheen bird, but a servo skull in a bandana is madly fabulous! And also an opportunity to play on treasure island/black sails by naming it Billy Bones or similar.

Maybe the hook is a false hand/melee weapon? So he still has that hand. That cowl around the “stump” is actually a protective hilt?

I will have a think about how to go about some of these suggestions. I am very much leaning towards a piratical servo skull now. The sheen bird may be better served in my Cawdor gang. My main issue is the holster could prove problematic to remove from the jacket 🤔 the sword is unfortunately glued in position with super glue. Could be easily moved or replaced.

A servo skull on a planet like Necromunda is hardly going to be your average imperial adept. With clan and gang culture going from top to bottom. A worthy of skulldom(?) Is likely to be a little different to the norm.
I have one with a mohawk.

So I have added a pistol grip to one of the holsters and intend to remove the hook sided holster and replace it with some grenades or a dagger or something? The sword I’m still hesitant to remove, as it will be painful if it breaks. No picture yet I’m afraid as I’m exhausted after a bad day at work and I’m suffering with a lack of enthusiasm tonight. I do however have some bits put aside for the servo skull and hope to have something to show soon. I appreciate all the input and ideas everyone and really hope I do this guy justice for you all 🙂

If you can buy brown dettol in Australia, that will dissolve cured superglue so sponging a little onto the sword join might save you from any snapping risk. I don't know what other cleaning products might have that effect but paint-stripping review videos can be useful for finding such side effects.

I going to hope it's just your rough day talking but just in case, remember that doing justice to a model for our sakes is much less important than whether you like the result. Unless of course you want to post it to me? :p

Not normally a big fan of yellow, but that dirty yellow you have there is really rather tasty!
Thanks, I appreciate that. I really didn’t want it to be too bright or clean. I have become fond of painting yellow of late, maybe it’s because I used to have a Lamenters army back in the day. Instead of the bright and clean way I painted them I felt Cawdor needed to represent a bit of poverty and decay. Although my Goliath gang don’t wash there clothes either!

At water guild prices, nobody does!

My first thought on seeing him was "The King in Yellow! Somebody promote that knight!" So if the good cardinal and your champs all snuff it, it's probably my fault now.
Thanks, I like that name, perhaps the Tattered Knight has his sights on this very unfortunate set of circumstances and dreams of one day wearing the good cardinals hat? I must admit I did design this guy as a backup cheap and cheerful leader if I chose to flood the gang with bodies over toys. He will for now fall in line and be a normal ganger until his time comes.

It’s a horrible rainy day here so what better way to spend it sorting the hobby space out. I should have took a before photo but I’m sure you all can use your imagination (think explosion at your local game store and you’re on the right track). Not shown is everyone’s favourite/ essential closet of shame. As far as actual hobby, I did manage to prime Sir Gregor and some bomb rats this morning and administer some emergency surgery on the good Cardinal as he decided to throw himself off the shelf somehow? Nothing major, he just lost a candle which it took 30mins to find and 30secs to fix.
