Long shot; calling any Japanese speakers!

@Zugg Zugg thanks for those, I’m trying to find the specific version of the song that I linked so I can listen to it without having to use YouTube. Osaka Clear Youth Orchestra doesn’t bring much up when it’s searched for in English, have you heard of such a group in Japan, and if so, would you be kind enough to show me the kanji form of the group? Of all the versions of Sakura I’ve heard, the one I linked is my favourite but the performers are a mystery!

Also, that Kozue Okabe album is great, it’s now on my hōgaku playlist 😂 I like creating playlists for certain board games I play, I use this one when I’m playing Sekigahara or Samurai Battles. Don’t ask about my Kingdom Death Monster one 😂

It’s definitely a beautiful version! The thing I like about the version I’m searching for is that, usually Sakura is performed very delicately like a fragile petal of cherry blossom floating to the ground, or gliding down a gently babbling brook. The version I posted is more like a cherry blossom tree strutting down the street with its massive, pendulous balls hanging out. The drop at 2:27 when the bass kicks in, oh my! If Sakura were a kaiju, this would be the song that announces its arrival on the shores of Japan!

I read an article ages ago about a guy who tried to store his collection of rare and alternate recordings on his computer, only to have iTunes (or Apple Music?) “upgrade” his versions to the standard ones...

Yes, I'm pretty sure I read the same article. I was always against programs even remotely messing with my files in any way whatsoever, no matter how well-intentioned. And in the case of the fruit company, it's not even well-intentioned in my opinion.

Having about a Terabyte (Edit: Okay, it's 784GB, not a Terabyte but still a lot) of remixes and bootlegs of early Indie, EDM and punk stuff from the 90s and early 2000s, any program that wants to archive, "optimize" or, Omnissiah forbid, "fix" my files is automatically considered heresy of the worst order.

There’s certainly a lot of reasons why physical media is simply better than digital files only these days. Certainly when it comes to preserving things.

That kind of automated shenanigans is one, updates, modifications, edits and censorship are others as evidenced by a lot of streaming services too.

As someone who keeps a whole outdated audio format around just so he can play a specific remix of one song I never found again but saved on a minidisc, I can sympathize with the quest for "that particular version".
Funnily enough I’ve got four mini discs of alternative Bowie recordings which I’ve not heard in decades now as I don’t have a player anymore.

Cant help with the thread sorry, but on a similar note, I came across this the other week (not seen the anime yet) and now have the excuse to share it!...

Man, I don’t remember that scene, but that sure looks like it belongs in Those Snow White Notes which is out new this season. I was going to suggest it too, in case @cardyfreak was into shimasen.

From last 4 years, I am looking for this song. The album name is "From the Past" by Osaka Clear Youth Orchestra. Song name is Wild Flower II. Not only Apple Music, Spotify also shows a blank page for this song/artist/album.
