It has happened! A BFG area!

Now of course you need a lovely pic or eight of your amassed fleets for us all to coo over.

...I say this as I realise I don't actually have one to upload thanks to the joy of Photobucket. I'll sort that this evening!

Battle fleet Eschataris, I only have this old pic, many more ships have been added since this was taken
Link seems to have shaved the sides off the pic and I am too tired to sort it out right now

I was pretty much always a fantasy player first, and if Mordheim had been out at the time, we would probably have gotten that instead of Necromunda. But this site has me wanting all the 40k stuff, except Warhammer 40k itself!
Want to play BFG, convert Inquisimunda, build big ork trucks... the works. BFG seems fairly simple to get in to, and some nice fleets here for inspiration! Fingers itching, timeconstraints constraining...

BFG ships are moderately easy to scratch build too - essential these days unless you just so happen to have many hundreds of disposable pounds clogging up your bank account you are desperate to get rid of. It's currently in the region of £10 for ONE escort up to £60+ for the battleships on eBay - and that's with bids not buy-it-now scalpers!

Looking good @radulykan, got some pre-heresy ships in there on the imperial side or are they scratch builds? I can see the chaos gun batteries but the bow and stern I don't recall.

Somehow haven't come across those before. There were a lot of ships that came out after I'd built my original fleet but before I went to expand it and found the game was OOP.

Yes, I have still got a reasonable selection of chaos and some imperial cruiser weapon bits, bridges etc so I can knock all sorts together if required.

Big chunks of metal that are not fun to build.
I had a blast making my fleets. The metal ones were fine, just takes some finessingesse. I like the feel. Chaos battleships jam.as to Grand cruisers etc. I made those cuz they were at a fire sale, and painted them like a dry-docked pre-heresy Imperial Fleet. Made a station with 3-4 Blackstone fortresses and leftover Imperial ship parts. Equates to a Ramiles class starfort.
