Hello fellow Yakkers, this is my random Necromunda bits and pieces repository. Hope you enjoy some of my creations, I'm certainly enjoying making them.

For now I'll just post this fella:

I'm not buying more minis until N17 arrives, but in the mean time I've raided my bits box to build this filthy hive scum. I actually really wanted to show off the cool flexible resin belts I got from Zinge Industries, but of course I forgot about that while I was taking the photo and didn't do one from an angle that actually shows the belt! I'll take some more pics tomorrow, but it's nothing fancy, I just thought it was a super handy little conversion accessory and not one I've seen before. Really helped on this build as there was a weird kind of space between the torso and legs, I didn't have to GS anything, just wrapped the resin belt around and it was sorted.

I expect I'll be posting mostly terrain for a while, I've got some stuff partly finished which I'll photograph tomorrow in the daylight (so much glare from my lamp and I don't really know how to use a camera :p)

Thanks for reading my rambling........

Yes. I don't know if you have that where you are, but like the coffee indeed.

I've been able to take some acceptable photos in the light of day, so here's what I've been up to:

As you can see they're designed to be stackable so I can make towers in different configurations. They will be getting some more detail still, I basically wanted to prime them because I was impatient to see what my texturing would look like with a coat of paint. I think it came up pretty well, if a bit heavy handed in places. I will aim for a finer texture on the rest of them, I've got five more partly finished with more roof tiles as well. The plan is to also eventually build four proper bottom story blocks to build from as well.

I'm also intending to build a crane and/or lift (elevator) to sit on the roof of a block, which will utilize those cutaways in the floors. Alternatively the blocks can be stacked with the cutaways on alternating sides and I can place ladders in there.

Lastly I've currently got a bench full of shipping containers (stolen directly from the Terrain Tutor youtube channel) which I'm working on detailing using strips of cardboard, I started out using plasticard but decided to switch to an easier/quicker medium to cut and glue.

The plan with this initial batch of terrain is really just to get a table's worth done fairly quickly (ie. before N17 comes out, so I can then focus on the minis) but I'd still like to add some more detail to these pieces, especially the tower blocks.

Right now I'm planning to add some electrical cabling, industrial debris including pallets and barrels, some dirt and rubble and rivets (of course), lots and lots of rivets. I would love to hear any other ideas for cheap and quick extra details (y) (and yes, definitely going to be adding some posters and @capitan 's printable hazard stripes).

As always, thanks for sticking with me through my ramble!

Oh and here is what the belt I mentioned looks like. The set comes with ten strips, I think maybe 5 different style belts in a large and small width, with maybe 3 buckles on each strip? (Sorry but I can't be bothered going upstairs for it, google Zinge flexible resin belts :p). I picked a simple modern looking one for this mini but there are a bunch of different ones with more traditional leather belts with buckles, etc. Just thought this might be a handy tool to show off as there are obviously almost as many kit bashing enthusiasts as there are members here and sculpting belt buckles is a little daunting!

I will say it looks a little chunky on this model, but not overly so and it was a super quick and easy way to finish him off. I think what he could really use is some holsters for his guns, but I don't think I could make one big enough for that plasma pistol without it looking ridiculous hanging off his belt, I mean that thing is nearly as long as his leg!

Looking great. Plus,as we all know, you can never have enough rivets.

Cheers! I'll be going rivet crazy soon enough, I'm waiting for some 2mm ones to arrive in the post but until then I'll crack on with the building.
I intended to spend a little time in the evenings this week to paint the scummer, but I couldn't resist making a start today and suddenly it was hours later and he's finished. Oops!

Just a quick update and now I'm off to finish helping Mrs. Power do her tax return, happy yakking Yakkers (y)

Again looking great. Pistol! That's a god damn hand cannon. That's how to bring payback to the underhive.

Nice glowing effect on the plasma pistol.

You're right that it is about the size of his leg, but that's heroic scale for you (plus use of chaos space marine weapons).

No more updates after this until I've got something finished to show off, I promise! I spent exactly one hour detailing these first three blocks this morning. I've added a bunch of rubble, some cabling, a pallet and some electrical fittings. They will each get a light (like the one made from sprue in the 3rd photo) but I've just made one to test it out so far, stolen directly from the Terrain Tutor youtube channel (y)

Cheers everyone for spurring me on! I will have some more time to work on this on Friday and Saturday, but I think I'll wait until my next pay to go and get paints, more primer, etc (and as promised, the next photos will be of something finished, though I may stretch that definition to include built but unpainted). Hopefully I'll have some finished and painted at the end of next week to show you.

I should also be receiving a load of plasticard and bits from greenstuffworld this week, which means I can crack on with another build I haven't showed you yet: another stackable design but this time it's round storage tanks (I nicked a whole bunch of sturdy little cardboard tubes from work).

My biggest head scratcher at the moment is how I should go about doing a whole bunch of ladders, I'm a bit tempted to just buy some mdf ones to be honest, they are so fiddly and I need so many! The one you may have spotted in some of my gallery pics made from sprue and cotton tip stems took me ages and still came out pretty messy, I definitely couldn't make too many of them in a hurry. Any ideas? Or links to Aussie websites where I can buy some?
