I think some additional armour plates on the fuselage (possibly with orky glyphs on them) would really help the model. It looks cool as it is, but it's not Orky enough!

That ball turret got pretty huge and looks super un-aerodynamic, but I guess for an ork flier that's not necessarily a huge problem. Anyone got ideas on how I could beef up the engine to make it look like this thing might actually be capable of flight? Maybe they just launch it out of a giant slingshot and it does some powered gliding

stick a couple rokkits on the back to give it some extra boost to get started I reckon.
Otherwise you could have some big cylinders hanging out the side of the engine cowling, maybe get a larger scale BMW motorbike model with the big horizontally opposed engine?

II guess it would be too much work, but I think it could look pretty cool as a double-decker with three engines?
I like the 'cylinder blocks sticking out of the cowling' idea. Maybe a band of like a dozen of them all round, hilariously oversized radial engine style?

It is either that, or build two wing mounted engines (for the extra Orky engineering overkill look.)
Stick some pistons coming out the top of the engine cowling (think V8) and then loads of exhaust pipes.
I agree that would be awesome! Maybe in a future project, I’ve actually seen a few good ones like that online and they do look proper ridiculous and orky
I’m gonna go with the bunch of pistons idea everyone seems keen on, will be easy enough to add on and should beef it up nicely. Will possibly add some booster jets on the back too
Here's where I'm at so far, not a huge amount has been done since the last update. I've done a little bit of work on the burna bombs, still need to make a hydraulic release thing for them. The rokkits are just blu-taced in place right now, gotta figure out how I want to mount them. Then of course there's rivets to add and a whole lot of gap filling to do including a fair bit of sculpting on the ball turret. I did some work on the base too but until it's textured it looks like balls, so I wont include any close ups yet

This is a great build. I particularly love the ball turret.
If you’ve got some smaller pvc tubing, pop a piece into each of the exhaust pipes on the engine cowling, with the end cut at an angle. It’ll make the exhausts looks even cooler than they do now.

Yeah that's lookin proper Orky, aerodynamics be damned! I like that chequer pattern on the back, nice touch.

It would in the sense that I will now always imagine him hanging upside down in there, but modeling wise I’d have to totally re make the turret to do that
My Troll obsession has made me miss this until now - loving it, Ork machines tend to not get painted for the comps it’s some kind of evil Unpainter curse, so no pressure!

I agree, this is an excellent build. I bought a Sea Venom and a MIG 15 ages ago to turn into Ork Fighta Booma’s, but @maxwellrpower’s Corsair is SO much better, and more Orky. I can’t wait to see it finished.

It looks PROPPA orky now, I did almost all the riveting last night, took ages but totally worth it
I think I might be in with a chance of actually getting this one finished. Should have more progress to post tonight
