I asked here on the 'tribe for advice on spray primer, specifically Army Painter, and had decided against it. But then I went to my flgs, and if I wanted purple all they had was AP... So I caved and decided to give it a try after all.
@Tiny said the purple was decent - some can be downright awful. It seems you’ve struck lucky!!

Keep your nozzle clean though. (Good general advice for life there)

Yeah... Had I been aware, I would've ordered bases with the minis. Getting them now would mean extra shipping costs on top. And I'm doing a budget army, plus I've been wanting to try using all the sprue lying around in my hobby closet for something!
Hang on… so you’re saying you don’t have a massive collection of random bases some dating back 35 years???? 😱

I've had to buy bases, to get extra round ones for Necromunda minis, before. Sounds silly, but as I've moved away from gw minis, I've been using up my stash. 3rd party suppliers don't seem to care about gw's strict base policy, yet I still like my gangs to be based in a similar fashion.

I kept working on the Pit Fighter in short bursts, so I didn't take a lot of pictures as progress was very limited from session to session. And suddenly he was done!

Added a counts-as chainsaw (I'm thinking it'll be a hot blade, if I can pull it off), and some greebling on his back, as well as a base. Had to give him a tactical I-beam, as that was the pose I had leftover from the Van Saar kit.
Here he is primed, including a very ugly zenithal spray.

On to painting, and my holiday just started on friday! :giggle:

Finished the Pit Fighter and then didn't do a whole lot since. I've got some guardsmen ready for paint, so if I can drum up some motivation I could crack on with them.
Also went by a thrift shop today, and picked this up! For the sum of DKR 20 (~ $2,9/€2,7/£2,6).
It's HO, so 1:87 scale. Not really compatible with anything I play, but I'm sure I'll figure out what to do with it.

I like how you phrased that! I was thinking some steam punk laboratory terrain for mordheim/frostgrave.
Clearly time to get cracking on your 15mm tank purchases so you can do some historical and Girls Und Panzer What A Tanker battles. 😒

Y’know people have these miniature replica working steam engines and track that they run on in real life…

The hobby butterfly strikes again... I have an ever increasing painting queue going, but I just wanted to build something. So a wizard and apprentice for Frostgrave was made over the last couple of weekends.

Not the best greenstuff work ever, but hopefully it'll do with some paint. I'll have to buy new greenstuff at some point, man my old batch is getting hard to even mix! :D

Immediate hobby goal: reduce the paint queue and actually get some of those minis FYSC'ed!

Looking good. New green stuff is worth it if yours has dried out. It almost makes green stuffing enjoyable. Almost...

You could keep the old stuff for basic jobs (like gap filling) and use a newer one for detail sculpting. But that will mean having two lots open and getting old, so only worth it if you use a lot (which I guess you don't).

Are you going to be playing Frostgrave soon?

I might try and introduce the middle yakling to Frostgrave soonish... He's only 8, but regularly asks to play Necromunda. We only play very basic rules, though. But he's more into fantasy, so wizards and knights should be the stuff. However, there's also intent of getting some 40k/grimdark future games going with the eldest. As well as a family d&d adventure... Not enough hours in a day!

Just a quick shot of my wizardly types primed for paint.
It's going to be a crazy busy week, so odds are there won't be any more hobby time for me until next week at the earliest. If I really get my motivational cap on, I might have time to finish something before August runs out... Time will tell.

Is the resemblance to Father Christmas/Santa Claus/whatever you call him intentional?
