Does anyone know if Mordheim will be updated and rereleased? I always enjoyed the idea of what is essentially fantasy Necromunda but not many people seemed interested in playing. It was one of the other games I wanted to get into.

I personally don't think it will ever come back, and nor should it.
They may make a totally different fantasy skirmish game on a similar theme, but it won't be Mordheim.
The original seems quite popular online, but I find the best way to get my group into playing things is to just build some models and terrain and put it in front of them.

I'm building a few warbands, albeit slowly. It's fine by me if it doesn't get a re-release, I'd like to try the old game, and it's very budget friendly.
They have released other fantasy skirmish games, haven’t they? And I imagine that their licence has deteriorated since they haven’t made periodic releases up to now
Genuinely not trying to be dismissive, it's a real question: what would you want from an update?
I concur with Tiny, any modern iteration of Mordheim by GW wouldn’t be Mordheim as it was, it would be “Super Mordheim Turbo - Tournament Edition” or some balls that bears not much relation to the original other than a vague Aesthetic and the brand name.
I unfortunately have reached that point where I’m not even keen on new versions of existing games, where change for changes sake just highlights that it’s about refreshing sales opportunities not really fixing errors in the original edition.
In fact some new versions are so far removed from the previous one it could (and probably should) be classed as a new different game entirely.
Good news is though that the originals still exist, if you can pick up the rulebook or a digital version you’re good to go!

I had it and never played, so I sold it off. But now I’m making a warband because I love the new minis I found (not GW), and it turns out there’s an annual Mordheim Open about an hour or so away from my house.
Hopefully not! the community is strong, big and ncie. The game is good enough - and then some! Join the Discord!

The models were nice but being disconnected to a current game I doubt any would see reissue any time soon. Heck, they haven’t even reissued any of the classic Necromunda gangs (though a few characters have been).
They did, however, reissue the Militia kit for Warhammer which was also used for Mordheim. So maybe… maybe some of them could come out for Old World.

there is a demand, but gw will likely be careful as they risk a lot supporting mordheim again.

Given that Blood Bowl was reissued in 2016 and Necromunda in 2017, I'm kind of surprised they haven't done Mordheim too. But since they haven't done it yet, for whatever reason, I don't think they're going to. (I wonder whether me saying that will lead to an announcement next week...)

I remember hearing the game was not profitable, because once you buy the warband… that’s it. Yeah, you may get hired swords or a tiny expansion but… not the most profitable.
I own several warbands, BloodBowl teams… so I strongly disagree hahaha
But on the other hand, if GW re-releases Mordheim I would probably stick to the old rulebook, which is more-or-less balanced, instead of the incoming powercreep of Bloodbowl and other games (new is alwaysbetter overpowered, I guess).
All being said… if there’s a new box I’m buying it, that is also true.

Age of Shitmar hehe. Yeah it is terrible. Not gonna shit too much on those models, they are not too bad. But few new things are interesting.. There is no soul like in old scuplted models.
And too many details. Too much nonsense. It is less of a problem in asmall warband, but try painting an actual army a la WHFB. With the nonsense of the newer shite.
