Can a model move through another model while they are charging. Am playing my first campaign and I have a certain player who is "one with the rules" so much that he intimidates you into believing he is right when there is a queston (always in your disadvantage and his advantage). Unlucky for him am also a autistic rule reader so we tend to fight who is right and a lot of the times I catch him bending rules to fit him and then stop me and always put me in rules disadvantage when am sure he is wrong, but just dont have energy to spent whole match arguing. Anyway had to vent a little.
There was a situation when his Ambot was charging and trying to base with my Witch (vespid) but I've put a exotic beast in the way so that he cannot cross the way easly. But according to him he might easly charge me through that model and even across baricades, side walls etc. basically putting 70% of his model base not on terrain but in air and then still finish charge. Also he wanted to put his model wobbling on terrain to finish charge just because.
Don't know if image is going to work but green is where he wanted to move like flying accross barricade completly ignoring her also just dodging my beast and basing my witch. Wanted to put my beast inbeetween barricades and my vespid but he said he will just base both (how?) also that he can just move on top of barricade to finish charge. Also another green circle where he wanted to put that Ambot half on barricade half on that black terrain. Red is where approximately I've placed that exotic beast to stop his movement.

Already clarified to myself that he have to substract height of barricades for his movement and also he cannot finish movement on top of one. So basically only way for him to base my Vespid was to move through my beast (somehow) and have enough movement to do so. But still want a bit of confirmation.
And the question is do I understand rules correctly so that he couldn't just bypass my exotic beast and watch through it also he said that base doesnt matter and he can just move that giant ambot to the side and ignore barricades and small gaps inbeetween exotic beast and barricades. So that I COULD block his movement of a chonky model or was he right and magicaly ignore all rules and somehow finish that charge to then do 8 attacks 2+WS S6 -1 2D wh40k style attacks on my poor vespid.

Sorry for long post wanted to describe a situation and also playing him makes me so angry that I use a lot of words. Sorry if question is not clear

Base sizes absolutely matter. There is no going "up the railing" to circumvent that.

Charges must take the shortest path. Your picture looks like the textbook example of why you cannot run around models to backstab them.

Here is where things get fuzzy charges do not target models. You guys would need to math out what is the shortest path from point A to point B and the ambot must take that path. You would not consider the enemy models when calculating the shortest path. If the ambot ends up in base to base with a model before reaching it's intended point then it would stop there and engage the model it's in base to base with. I.e. you cannot move through enemy models.

Looking at your pic, the shortest path from A to B looks (to me) to be a straight line over the obstacles. The straight path also looks (to me) that it would touch the red circle model's base first and stop there. However, it also cannot end it's move on top of the terrain, so that might not be a legal move and it's charge would fail.

Let's say the green path is actually the shortest path (assuming the ambot's base can fit that way). It would be straighter than drawn going through the red circle model's base, ending the charge in base to base with the red circle model.

Having said that, these kinds of situations are what Arbiters are for. Talk to your Arbiter.

It sounds like this guy isn't very fun to play with, so maybe consider not playing with him?

Thanks for answer. Notified him about his mistake.
Yea am considering not accepting next challange or just surrendering because its not worth to just come back from game and be iritated even when you win.
Campaign is soon comming to an end so soon I wont have to face against him. And unlucky he has highest rating am I am underneeth him so most of the time people with lower ratings are challanging eachother and we are left last so naturally we are paired against eachother. But moment he buys some op weapon or combo am not accepting/surrendering the fight cuz its not fun being exp farm for that type of player. Luckly today he admitted his mistake, showed him pictures of rules etc. So maybe he will be more tame about it but will see. Just wanted to make him play by the rules and not intimitade rest of the less experienced players in his favour. Dunno if its lack of knowledge about the rules or deliberate act to gain advantage. Hate he acts like he knows every rule and tries to bend you into believing him. On one side he is annoying to play against but after game he seems like a nice guy. Will see, but hope I will not have to fight him the rest of the campaign.

Charge closest path is clear, but really dumb for obvious reasons. Moving over/through other bases is as far as I remember still unclear. It used to be declared many years ago, but that wording has since vanished. Other games with better quality has clear rules for this. It sort of depends what kind of game you like. Very strict and prohibitive? Or permissive. Either way a game benefits from clear rules. Necromunda feels unclear and/or overly restrictive. For example if this fighter wants to charge that fighter over there, but the charge range isn't even enough to climb the ladder. Some players won't notice because they don't know or follow all the restrictions. But for those who do, you can end up not being able to do basic actions you want to in a game.
