A video of my kitbashed Arachni-rig the Kriegsspinne. I thought a video would be an easier way to show her as she's not very conventional. It's an unusual take and not to everyones taste but I like her.
Just that everyone had envisioned it as a power loader. I had an image of this thing climbing through the hive and thought, I reckon I can do that. It has an alternate mode, which is upright. I'm waiting on some bits and I'll build iti think that’s a sweet piece. i especially like how, from a certain angle, it looks like an actual spider.
so what was the complaint? awkward pilot position?
not st all. “arachnarig” makes me think of yours. or ArtelW’s “doc ock” version. Power Loader is more “brute” to me. oh well, different strokes and all that.Just that everyone had envisioned it as a power loader. I obviously agree, I've imagined how the pilot is installed, the way the head of the rig moves down on a double ball jointed arm to create a cowl/for the pilot. The back legs would become stabilisers and weight bearing for heavy industrial work.not st all. “arachnarig” makes me think of yours. or ArtelW’s “doc ock” version. not at all! that sounds really sweet. i wouldn’t go for anything that ambitious, but then again i’m not very “van saar-ish”I obviously agree, I've imagined how the pilot is installed, the way the head of the rig moves down on a double ball jointed arm to create a cowl/for the pilot. The middle to legs are swapped out for a more battle based rig, allowing for quadrapedal movement and simultaneous firing from 3 potential weapons (the twin linked I'm counting as one. Sorry I'm waffling, basically I went too far.
Probably on my Facebook or Instagram, I've not seen another like mine anywhere. I'm sure fw will produce a fantastic model but I enjoyed doing this, before I would have been afraid to hack away at models. I look for different possibilities now.I think I've seen this somewhere.. anyway, it's a cool take and again different from my own. I have a feeling they're going to do something even more spidery when FW does their actual release.
I'd love to see it! One of the best aspects of the hobby is seeing how fertile people's imaginations can be.Instagram maybe or someone tweeted it. I don't use the demon facebook. Anyway, I'll make my way back around and attach the last 2 arms for mine some time soon... or I'll get to play and actually have to do work on my minis (HA!)
Ah yes, I've seen a couple like this. I was initially tempted to go with something similar but I try to restrict myself to gw stuff. Not entirely sure why.I based it on an Infinity Yu Jing but here ya go. It's roughly 90%
Necromunda - My Miscellaneary
Support legs both pinned (only glued on the leg side, seems like I need more detail at the join). You can see the top legs over the shoulder, both are prepped at the join and I'm actually satisfied with those but I'll need to figure out how the weapons will attach.. feel free to throw in any...yaktribe.games
