Necromunda in Australia?

*the Captain sacrifices a 5kg gummy rat, by way of decaptation, to Betsy the Great White Yak*

Always good to see cool Yaks, no matter how long they’ve been away!
It’s always exciting hearing about battles being fought the other side of the Hive too! Great stuff!

Sorry that I am in remote WA so I can totally sympathise with your plight. I have an entire 6 metre by 6 metre shed chock full of minis and terrain and struggle to find other gamers. I have recently insinuated myself into a gaming group and a couple of them are interested in trying Necromunda so after years of little gaming I might be onto a good thing. I trust that you found enough players back in 2018 and that you are now well versed in the game now. If you ever heading through Esperance I would love a game.

Hey I’m in Newcastle, looking to play some games. Haven’t played any games yet but have a few gangs that iv painted up.

I am in Esperance (home of Oz's only pirate - Black Jack Anderson) in the Great Southern. Well technically he was on Middle Island but he prayed on Esperance shipping.

Hey guys,

I know this is a bit of an old thread but do you guys still play Necromunda in Adelaide or know of anyone who does? I'm in the process of building my first Necromunda gang and I would love to have someone to play against when they are painted.

Cheers
Hey, I'm in Adelaide also and jus trying to get into playing necromunda a bit. I'm pretty much a newb but just finishing my GSC force. If anyone keen to play it lets have a game

SBF and I did get some games in yes, but unfortunately he has moved back interstate. I'm kind of on a Necromunda hiatus at the moment, I guess. My local group are excited by Old World, so that has taken over.
I'm in Adelaide and would be keen to get some Necromunda in (but am also deep in TOW at the moment)

I've recently arrived in Canberra and yet to establish a gaming group (though I've started playing a bit of 40k 2nd edition ar Jolt). It seems that newer version of Necromunda is popular but I'm yet to see anyone else into ORB (or it's spinoffs) which is my jam. Mordheim seems popular so I'm building a gang for that.

Hey mate,

There are a few at Jolt games that are trying to get a casual Necromunda night going on Thursday nights, and there are a few private campaigns going on in the background.

I used to run a bunch of the campaigns out of Jolt (from 2017-2021) and a few of the other regulars have run them since but it largely died off last year when I started running Bloodbowl stuff in the area and didn’t have time to admin two game systems at the same time.

I don’t think there is anyone really playing N95 in Canberra any more but if you are on Facebook there is a Canberra Necromunda League group with a lot of older heads in it and you might be able to find a game or even a campaign hiding in there.

For Mordheim there is also a Mordheim Canberra group on Facebook that you should jump into. Andrew Hollis is the bloke that always seems to be running Mordheim stuff and I believe there is a campaign running currently (also out of Jolt coincidentally).

There is also an ACT Mordheim group but it seems to be pretty small and hasn’t had much activity lately.

There is also a Mordheim event happening on the same weekend as Cancon (25-26 January 2025) called Mordheim Australis - a Canberra Mordheim Event.

And if you are into Bloodbowl at all ping me and I’ll send you some more details about that. I’ve got a one day tournament running on 9 November and an 18 person league that will start its new season in January.

Oh and it might help to also reach out to the Canberra Northside gaming group (assuming you are north side) and or the Canberra Games Society as they get a few older gamers in who like older games like 2nd Ed and N95.

Hope that info dump helps!

Brilliant thanks mate, really good info.

I'll have a look at these groups and events (especially Mordheim Australis). I've been out of touch with Bloodbowl after GW stole NAF's homework resurrected it; its fairly low down on my list relative to other games, but something I could see getting back into once I've got myself established.

Cheers!
