Welcome to Yak Comp 17 - this one has been chosen by @Ned Noodle with his winning entry of the Jake, Finn & BMO from Adventure Time!

This one is going to be a little (ok, a lot) different to what we normally might expect.

Recreate an Album or Book cover - but obviously 'update' it to fit with our Necro, Inq28, GoMo, & MH (FG) themes.

This can be a bit of Scenery, a Vehicle, a mini or a mixture of all three.

Your initial and Final Entry must include a pic of the Album / Book cover as well.

Usual Rules apply here.

Closing date will be 6 weeks from now - Wednesday 28th December.

EDIT. Closing has been extended until January 4th due to busy schedules over Christmas and New Year.

Please reply below with your intentions of entering and update occasionally.

Any questions or queries @djmothra or @ClockworkOrange will advise.

( @nooker or @cardyfreak can you please move to Briefing Room please?)

Count me in! My entry, though probably abit too ambitious, will be terry pratchetts interesting times. Good luck to everyone who enters, Im really looking forward to see what people come up with! All I need to do now is loose my noob status, learn how to upload stuff from my iPad, pray for the emperors holy guidance, have a cuppa, then I'll make a start!

I have one possible idea, though not a very good one...

Clarificatory question: Are we expected to do something like the whole cover or would it be acceptable to just do a central character/scene from it? For instance, taking the Necromunda box, could one just do a Goliath leader based on that?

First I was like "awwww rules don't allow covers from games or movies", however my trickster mind saved me when I realized original soundtracks are actual albums :D

well I don't know yet what to do. Even the process should I browse albums / books that I like and take some idea from there OR think something that I would like to create and then try to find some album / book cover to satisfy it :D

I really think - especially for the example of doing the Necromunda box cover since there would not be much conversion work - that an attempt to be source material accurate goes a great length in this one. If it were just a Goliath painted in the canon colour scheme, might not get much response but if you had backdrop, some sort of diorama display to it, that would be what I was at least initially implying with putting the first post up. The pun intended had been that it could be a really really easy option to make Necromunda miniatures apply to the source material.

If you want to talk cheekiness, why Mr. @ClockworkOrange has without skipping a beat come up with a seamless way to build the wall he had already been planning :ROFLMAO:(y) Will we see any of the removed bricks and the characters behind them from the album sleeve? I've got the vinyl in my hands right now, the worms would be a really cool way to include something but keep it as Necro as possible for post-comp playability... It took me a half second when I saw the chosen topic to put two and two together with the comment you made in your thread about theme bending, but had a legit laugh out loud once I did. Well played.
