I really think - especially for the example of doing the Necromunda box cover since there would not be much conversion work - that an attempt to be source material accurate goes a great length in this one. If it were just a Goliath painted in the canon colour scheme, might not get much response but if you had backdrop, some sort of diorama display to it, that would be what I was at least initially implying with putting the first post up.

I wasn't simply thinking any old Goliath leader. I was thinking of a case where someone made that guy, in that pose. (I think someone - maybe even Mike McVey - did this with the Blood Angel captain from the 2nd edition 40k cover, long before GW made a miniature of it.)

I asked because I wasn't clear whether 'a character from a book cover' was really the same as 'recreating the whole cover' - and because the former is actually rather similar to the previous challenge.

Great theme. Wish I had time to participate but I'm looking forward to seeing the entries in progress.

If someone made a very good conversion and paint job of just 1 or 2 characters from the Necromunda cover I'd definitely consider voting for it. I think it then depends to what length the other entries have been taken and their quality, but it's surely a legitimate interpretation of the theme.

My personal inclination is that we should be fairly relaxed/permissive about eligibility, but leave it to voters to vote in accordance with the theme. But I'm not running the competition, which is why I asked.

Anyway, I'll take it as confirmed that a character from a cover is fine.

What @Ben_S said but please vote on whether the entry has matched the theme - which I may struggle with this time other than the obvious.

Now, now.. Hold all the pressure! My nerves can't handle that! :D

I ordered bits yesterday. Postage is slow.. and I think this one might take some time.. It's always nothing, until it's something. And it might not even be something good. :p

I do have the cavalry, un-assembled in the get started box that held the Coven Throne.

I also have a bunch of unpainted skeletons that have been left in a box for ages now, I got tired around 50, for my undead army, but still have about 10 more. So it's a good excuse to get them done.

I am sooooooo totally in! - now whether or not I can balance this with the run-up to Xmas , finding a new job, completing my online portfolio, clearing my debts & re-painting & basing my Delaque gang, well, we'll have to see - but I think this is a great theme guys!!! - can't wait to see what people come up with!

And I'll give it some thought but I have a pretty good idea of what I'll be aiming for.

not sure which one yet tho (gotta keep you guessing!)

Planning on using one of the Delaque alternative Heresy minis....

If this would be 'legal' or not I'm not sure where I can find the 'usual rules' that might apply....? can someone point me in the right direction? - if so count me in please (go easy on my tho - as an enthusiastic newcomer!)

I really like your source images, if you stuck them all together it would totally be titled a day in the life of delaque! I think the first one would be the most ambitious, the last one would be the most epic, but personally I like the one with the head in a jar, because 1) head in a jar and 2) it has a wall in (let me explain). Yours would have a wall in, my entry has a wall in, and I think it's our jobs as juves to keep Mr clockworkorange on his toes! But otherwise love your idea and really love your enthusiasm, can't wait to see what you come up with.

I'm in but still not sure about painting it till deadline. Classic

I think it might be stretching the theme abit if on the fifth day the very hungry caterpillar was hungry for Dorothy and her friends! :) Really like your idea, though I would have loved to see the grim dark caterpillar.

Thanks (fellow "Indestructable" juve!) - will yours be Mysteron themed perhaps!? ;) "This is the Voice of 'captain dangerous'......"

"head in a jar" is current favourite too! - thanks for the support mate!
