Ahoy, all. Warhammer Community is showing off the upcoming re-envisioning of Apocalypse-scale 40K games.

So, models are grouped onto particular movement trays, maneuver and act in "detatchment" tactical groupings, take blast markers which affect performance and morale, orders are assigned in advance [mind you, they are using tokens to show orders, rather than 'order dice']....

It sounds a LOT like the previous edition(s) of Epic, only in 28mm scale instead of 6mm scale. Doesn't it? Or is it just me?

The piece I saw on this said it was both. Rules for 6 mm and full scale will be together in this release. Which is an interesting idea.

Looking through the advert/promo short video, both blast markers and orders are on small tokens [so hold onto your old Epic blast markers, for use here too, in EITHER scale, since they were more visually appealing], and the "movement trays" do set models up into the "five square" format of the old epic bases:

Might be time for a rummage and re-paint of my old Epic scale Alpha Legion forces....

Source? doubtful yet hopeful... might not sell my epic just yet then.

looked for it but couldn't find it again. Maybe BoLS? I thought maybe it was through email, but nothing in my trash, so I'm thinking one of the Facebook communities.

Reading back through the facebook posts, the links shared are the same ones @Aulenback posted. The community is calling it Epic28, but I didn't see that referred to in the posts themselves. guess it was just wishful thinking. I was really impressed they had come up with that idea (2 games in one).

I must've just read more into it than was actually there... sorry guys. guess ill go back to spamming stuff I did over 20 years ago... umm, grognards... !?

i’m beginning to think that’s what the original posts i saw on FB were implying: that this is the old Epic Scale adjusted up to 28mm and renamed “Apocalypse”.

That is what a few of the other 40K sites have implied as well -- BoLS, Spiky Bits -- nothing concrete, and nothing conclusive, but what little description GW has released, about detatchments, blast markers, orders being given during the initiative phase and then carried out by detatchment, very much sounds like Epic "Armageddon's" last set of rules.
