Does anyone else think the Ash Waste Nomads got really hosed with their only them Trading post, especially their weapons section once you take out what they already get off their gang specific list their are only something like five or six weapons even on the list at all and as far as I can see no hth weapons available that wasnt already availabale off their own options already. all the Eclusive weapons are only avaiable to their new propect which again already has them avaialable and since no one else can take them sticking them on the trading post just makes it look like theirs options when their really isnt. your only real choices off the trade post are a lasgun, an auto gun or a shotgun. There are zero extra special weapons that werent available on the gang list and zero heavy weapons that werent already on the gang list and zero close combat weapons they didnt already have on their gang list so what are you really getting? The only gang with worse options as far as I can see are slave ogryns.

I meant to write specialist ganger, not prospect in my original post but still all those extra close combat weapons only they can take are tucked into the trading post section when in reality non of them are avaialable to anyone else so just bulk filler without substance IMO.

Don't like the shift towards gang-specific trading posts. Trading Post always give weird results when you compare to gang equipment lists. Perhaps no more than for Nomads as you point out. Who's the mesh & flak for, all nomads have those in their own lists. You are right there's hardly any uniquely different stuff there. Notably some armour options.

I m not sure i understand "hosed" in that context. I find the nomads to be too tied to a specific environment to be truly interesting. But that's just me. This feeling is reinforced by their specific TP. In contrast the squat can be played in the hive.

The way nomads were written make me think the way the enforcer use to be written. They were define more by their limitations than by flavors. This limitations were perceived by most player as arbitrary and were rejected. It took a long time and several additions for the enforcer to be interesting and not appart due to limitations.

For some reason such was not the case for the nomads.

Playing nomads is like playing fixer in Shadowrun, sure you are at the same table as the other players but you are active a fraction of the game because you have little interaction with the other.

If your group allow modification just let them access to normal TP. Maybe augment price and rarity to reflect the prejudice and enmity between nomads and the others but that's about it.

Remember that Escher and Goliath hate each other but they still commerce. That is a key aspect of Necromunda commerce over hatred.

What I meant was that the trading post just for them might have been an interesting ideal but was handled poorly and if you weed out what is already on their gang list basically is a hollow/empty offering especially weapons wise. Also fluff wise it doesnt make much sense in my opinion as they regularly raid convoys and outposts and even sometimes into the edge of the hive and take imperial possesssions but almost none of that ends up at their own trading post? again just my opinion but I found it to be dissapointing and redundant when almost every weapon on their trading post is literally already on their gang list. they could have at least put something on their theey cant start with or buy at any time. Perhaps a few black market/alien weapons would have made sense on their trading post list as they dont have the stigma/suspicion that imperial/necromunda citizens would have of them.

Others, don't specify but then it's the context that seems odd. For example the last book of the Aranthian succession let you ally with the loyalist or the rebel. It just very weird that nomads get involved in political crisis.

That's the main issue again with nomads they are too tied to the ash wastes. Sometimes I think that the muties from GorkaMorka inspired too much the author (s) of the the nomads. Except that the wild is the default settings in GorkaMorka but not in Necromunda.

Asun'ghar, The Lady of Ash, is a Helmawr so politics of some kind is inevitable. She does try to remove Haera but I'd need to reread the story to check if that's simple revenge, or whether she wants the top job. Also need to check whether they did anything specific to the Aranthian side.

It's hidden away in the overall story, rather than being in her rules, so it's easily missed. I agree with you that Nomads would normally be separate from all the power struggles but I think Asun'ghar is building up to something big.

Like her brushing hair cut? Jokes aside according to what you said only her should have some form of accreditation to enter the hive. Unless you prefer to say that your leader is also a secret scion of lord Helmwar.

In the old days they used to force their way into a hive. They had to have a high strength weapon in the gang in order to take part in standard games. The charge caster meets those requirements and I expect most nomad players include one of those in their gangs.

Shouldn't it be more logical to hijacked a shuttle and attack the upper hive instead of going from the bottom to the top?

Whatever roleplay you want to use is fine by me. Blast in the bottom or fly in higher up. Go for it!

In Hive Primus' case there is a Imperial Fist Fortress on the top so a shuttle attack will not end well for the shuttle.

Don't they have a duty of neutrality? They gave 100 day to all parties involved to fix the sucession crisis if i remenber well. So that shutlle Shoud be safe for a while.

Not neutrality. 40k is really really Dark.
That was a threat. "You have 100 days to sort out your little petty coup and restore you tithes. Or we (the Imperial Fists) start glassing continents."

Space marines aren't cuddly.

I never said they were cuddly but just that they don't care who wins as long as the tithes is not challenge. So i don't see them bowing the shutle before the 100 days. I could be wrong and i realise we are very much off topic. So for my part i end my off topic topic; :)

It may be off topic true.
Just on another off topic point, do they still make those Topic Chocolate bars?

Haven't eaten chocolate in twenty plus years so don't pay attention to them in the shops anymore but your frequent use of the word got me thinking.

Afraid not, they were discontinued a few years ago. Drifter bars were also discontinued. Booooooooo!
