    Hello fellow YakTribesmen,

this is my first post, but I'm not really new to the forum. I'm a big fan of Inquisimunda (using the NCE rules by Anthony Case) and I take the YakTribe Competion III as chance, to finally join the action. My secret plan is to build a hidden bunker entrance. The finished model should be modular, because I like the idea of being able to use the different parts individually. In this manner the entrance is also easier to paint.

Anyway, here are my first results:

    First Step. Gathering Parts.

The "antagonist" - a mean rat.

    Lurking on a sewer pipe.

The "protagonist" - Servo-Skull exploring the entrance.

    Death from behind or...

... escape at the very last second?

The next step will be a kind of cave or abandoned building where the entrance is located. More of my previous work can be found on my blog:

Thank you all! Not sure, but I think the rat is from the skaven Doomwheel or even one of those Giant Rats (might be the same).

Yeah, could be the hardest part. But I'm not done yet, just getting started. :)

Thanks very much for the info, I will be hitting up any skaven players I know to see if they have some spare :) Would you say its big enough to go on a base as a giant rat?

Sure, I think they are ideal for this. Some might be a little small, but in this case two on a beautiful base would do the job.

    Quick update: Rohbau. The shell.

To hide the bunker it was built deep into the underground, right underneath the sewer system. A heavy bombardment has exposed the hatch. But perhaps it was just time and natural decay, who knows... On the street level there is still the former acces point to be seen.

    Thanks for looking! Comments?

What is your technique for giving the foam that texture/ hardness? I want to use the same foam for doing hills/ levels and yours has a really spot on finish. Maybe a How-To post in the Painting/ Tutorials Thread?

    @Blood Donor

Thanks for your comment. What I can say at the moment, stay tuned! The texture is a leftover from its previous form, I used spackling paste to do it. In the next update I will go into the details.

Some progress here, but hopefully this is my last post before the entrance is finished. Time is running out! The model is plastered, primed and now I am working on the details, but there is still a lot to do. I made a few pictures of the work in progress, but most of them suck.

These are the best I could do:

Putting spackling paste on it for the structure.

    Priming in progress.

    Priming done!

This is what I made today:

Sewer entrance, rat and servo-skull. Pretty rusty.

    The Hatch.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Very cool - I like the idea of modular and changeable terrain pieces that can fit together in different configurations.

I am not very good at the planning and design stages of projects - I generally just throw a bunch of shit up against the wall and see what sticks - but I will be making a games board once I complete my house move, and this website with its numerous terrain building threads has given me so much inspiration (I can't wait to move so I can get started!)

I've done it! Exactly in time. To be precise, there are even a few hours left until deadline. The entries I've seen so far are very good and I'm curious what's next. So, let them come!

And now... ladies and gentlemen. I'm proud to present you:

    "The Hatch"!

Death from behind? - If you've read my first post, then you should be familiar with this picture.

    The sewer entrance.

    ... suffering from decay.

    The entire model.

Things I used: Styrodur or Styrofoam, Spackling Paste, bits from GW's Space Marine Tanks and some other parts, a Servo-Skull, a mean rat, sand, some slate stone and a plastic cap from a coffee to go. Techniques: Lots of shading and drybrushing.

Thanks for looking and wish me luck!
