New edition 2020

I'm not sure about "all" or even "most". I've counted 108 star players so far. I'm guessing we get something like 20-30 of them in a single book. I got 31 teams, one of which are in two different versions. New edition will include at least 1 new team. Not sure how many existing teams they bother to include, hopefully most, certainly not all.

Now, who would want to read N18 rules just for the pleasure of it ? Out of a SM circle I mean ?
That’s quite the fetish!
“Whip me with your copy of Gang War!!”
“Take me! Take me ... for more money on packs of playing cards...”

On the subject of minis, I'm really not that keen on the human nobility team from the new box.

Pre-2016, a lot of people would use converted WFB models, which had a tendency to look like soldiers without weapons, rather than a sports team. One good thing (imho) about the new [2016] models were that they actually looked like sports teams.

The new [2020] models though seem to have gone away from that - they look like a mixture of state troops and greatswords, with ridiculous puffy sleeves, military armour, and feathers/plumes.
Not seen the Orcs but the Humans could be useful nobleman conversion fodder for Necromunda.

I did see somewhere that there was a bit of rage brewing over ‘fattist’ depictions in GWs model range.

They got half-way through the current BB2016 edition, and can't be bothered to complete it before making the next edition? Damn!
You’ve seen 40k right? Orks didn’t get a Codex at all for 5th or 6th Editions. Think that’s happened with a few other armies too over the decades. They frequently just drop a new edition without updating everything.

How will this affect Necromunda? Specialist Games creating a new edition after 4 years, even if some teams or content is not released yet. We may have Escher codex, Orlock codex.... then brand new N21 edition? We have already had multiple "editions" (or versions if you like), so maybe it is opposite. BB is copying Necromunda, as GW sees the opportunity to double the amount of books?
2017 - Box Rulebook
2018 - Hardback Rulebook
2019 - Tweaked DU Rulebook
2020 - all scheduled “House of” books.

You really think after they’ve released the House books we won’t get a new Rulebook??

I’m expecting one almost yearly!!

GW releasing a new edition before completing the old edition? How very uncharacteristic of them...

...

Bwahahaahahaah!

On the other hand, I nearly bought Blood Bowl a few weeks ago thinking "it's been out for ages, they're probably not going to drastically change anything now" :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, was talking about it only on Saturday with a mate as we were looking at all the stock in WHW. Now we know why they had so many BB books, boxes and Managers packs available!!

Gotta get that warehouse cleared of old stock!! :ROFLMAO:

Love the models for both the new teams, black orcs in particular. I like a lot of the changes...it seems like they did try and improve the feel of the game. There are a couple things i'm unsure about though, which is how negatively this affects elf teams and how gutter runners are now costly players that are no longer as capable.

I'm curious to see what actual difference there is between the Black Orc team and the Orc team... Is it more Blorcs with extra Goblins or...?

Would definitely be nice to get some more Black orc poses for my Orc team instead of using modified WHFB Black orcs (doesn't solve my blitzer problem, but still)

With both Griff Oberwald and Varag Ghoul-Chewer being redone, are these new kits plastic rather than resin do you think?

I mean, they already have a modern version out so another set in resin is a bit odd.

They seem to feature in pictures of the box content. If they are in the box, then surely plastic.

That’s what makes me wonder. Also the line that Griff has been signed for this season for the Imperial team. Makes it look like they’ve made versions of the Star Players that fit in with the uniforms of the new teams.

Nice to see Griff back with his traditional winged helmet though.

They are obviously plastic, they come in the starter box! This is a much more fleshed out box. Instead of the minimalistic handicap teams of the previous edition, this new box has 1 big guy per team and 1 star player per team. Instead of the dumbed down newbie rulebook, it looks like it will be a proper rulebook.

Yeah it’s nice to see the big hardback may be included in the box. Perhaps they could do that with Necromunda too next time instead of another new Rulebook.

I haven’t seen a full proper box contents photo, only a very blurry one from sprues & brews and you can’t really make out all the models.

What big guys do they come with? I saw a painted ogre in one of the videos but it looks like the one you can already buy.

It seems like there's an insane amount of teased but unreleased content for Bloodbowl now. Off the top of my head:

- 2020 edition;
- Human Nobles team;
- Necromatic team;
- Black Orc team;
- Snotling team;
- Treemen.

I'm guessing the Necro team are or were lined up for a Hallowe'en release, though Covid may have affected all release dates. The starter will probably be around November, like other boxed game releases (in time for the Christmas market). While Nobles and Black Orcs will presumably get released at some point, they need not be a priority as anyone with the game will have them.

It's the Snotlings I'm most interested in, but I'm guessing now that they won't come until after the new edition, since they don't have current rules and it would be a waste of effort to release BB2016 rules for them shortly before making them obsolete. (Ok, I know it's not a huge change, but I'm still not expecting to see BB2016 rules for them.)
