New edition 2020

I had a full on grognard tantrum when they "ruined" Blood Bowl with a new edition. I'm guessing I should probably give it a try.
Yeah have a look! Not played any previous edition, well, one test game many years ago but i never understood it - had a bad tutor.. basically never got past the line-up, set-up, bashing each other..

But I find it fun. Which is weird, it was all around me for years.. When 2nd Ed 40k dropped and I started (having previosuly played with my brother, he had 2nd Ed Epic9. older dudes played BB and had that styrofoam pitch.. And it took me like more than 25 years to get into..
I don´t regret it however!

Yeah not a fan of the cardboard. It is "loud".. The sound.. Nah.. I do like some more modern, mouse mat material ones..

dice cup and a mousemat pad to land on is brilliant for keeping noise down.

I prefer my easy to fold and carry cloth pitch. Mousepad's present better And, can be custom printed like my beloved 4-way 7's Death Bowl pitch. But with mousepad, gotta roll your own, so carried in a big ole awkward cardboard tube.

That said, really like the GW carboard Vampire, Gnome, and Chaos Dwarf pitches. Look really good and easy to read. That said, currently using the "Astrogranite" side of the Blood Bowl box Elvin pitch for my league Tomb Kings, because it looks like an ancient temple floor. Oh, and as an added bennie, if you accidentally/stupidly spill your soda on the GW laminated cardboard pitches, cleans up with no damage done. Tested by yours truly. Do NOT try this at home!

Ah yeah, if you have to bring it, cloth! Agreed!

Yeah, spilled ale is not great on some others, lol. Always a plus when it is easy to see on them.

So, imagine your ye old FLGS has it's miniature tables ALL reserved/in use for some dumb Star Wars space ship game (or similar nonsense). And, further imagine for once, the card tables are not full with some MTG nonsense event. Well, if relegated to those long, multi-MTG player card tables, the GW cardboard pitch will neatly fit sideways on them. With the dugouts by the end zones. Our fabulous modern fabric/mousepad pitches might be too wide, since they often sensibly incorporate dugouts (and more) next to the pitch? Nope, they fit. Tested and confirmed, You're welcome!

I have the one from the starter box. But I would not buy any other from GW. For the price 100%. Silly high for what it is. When there is much better competition for almost the same price..

I tend to pick up some of the themed pitches on ebay when they are sub 15 quid, cos I like em. I've managed to get the snotling, pro elf and ogre ones (that I use the snowey side for my norse) along with the standard starter set pitch.

lol, please take a pic of that some time. Not sure I can imagine how it looks but I still am curious. Not a K pop fan but whatever.

Well, if relegated to those long, multi-MTG player card tables... our fabulous modem fabric/mousepad pitches might be too wide...
Tested, and the 3rd-party, all-in-one cloth/mousepad/PVC 11's pitches will fit on a card table. The variant BB game pitches are all smaller (except for Gutter Bowl).
