So the stimmer doesn't have paired renderizers? Paired pulverizers instead? Not that it matters, any unlucky victim will not survive.

It is not just the 'gun shield' that is limiting the assembly numbers; looking around the frame I found only one copy of both the backpack variants (one for the Rock saw and one for the Storm welder).

The backpack for the Rock saw model is a regular backpack, it's not connected to the rock saw.

So it looks to me like there is now 6 gang member types. There should be 7. Leader, champ, specialist, ganger and juve plus the two new ones. Have we lost a type or will specialist be treated as a ganger subtype?

This Goliath sprue is terribly disappointing. No option whatsoever. No easy way to turn those miniatures into honest-to-the-Emprah champions and juves. Complete miss to me. I'm not even sure I want one anymore.

I don't think this book having rules for Ogryn slave gangs means every codex will have rules for a new gang (and an accompanying new miniature kit). It's just them capitalizing on the upcoming release of the Jotunn Servitor kit (similar to how chaos cult and genestealer cult gangs were based on existing miniatures). Maybe I'm wrong though, but don't get your expectations too high.

Dunno, the big dude Goliath and his extra leg ate most of the sprue, so future gang probably have more options going for them, provided they also don't have dude as big as the Stimmer.

Yikes!
So after seeing that 'Zerker model, I have now ordered the Chemfist Brute from Artel W. Man, that model reminded me of the Dark Eldar Grotesques.

Liking the Pit fighter guys, though, and might get them at some point.

Some other thing I noticed, the red circle piece is needed to completed the Storm Welder, and you only got one per sprue, meaning the other Forge-born built from the box will always have to take the rock saw.
Looking at it, it shouldn't be terribly difficult to convert up something from spare plasticard or similar to replace that. It would be a lot different if you only got one power supply or whatever.

EDIT: Speaking of bitz, you get three pieces that look a bit like wicker shields or soemthing. I can't tell what they are. Anyone know?
EDIT2: Oh, yeah, it's part of the backpacks. Nevermind.

You guys, I don't get the hate. These are excellent kits for kitbashing and indeed turning into other models, and I'm excited to get them!
Different size bodies might make kitbashing difficult. I suppose you can't just slap Goliath stub gun arm on a Forge-born and be happy - it will require some converting.

Hope at least FW heads will fit Stimmers nicely. Looks like it should work.

The forgeborn aren't too bad although very limited in available options in the kit. Kitbashing should be possible for them though. The stimmers on the other hand are not good. The pose is awkward and the legs seem oversized. Not going to easy to mod those.

The berserker is just horrible in my opinion. Doesn't look intimidating at all and looks rather like Mr Hyde from the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen after he's had too much potion.

I definitely dislike the Zerker in comparison to Artels Chemfist say. Whilst I don't like the Stimmers as much as say the prospects (forgeborn) I'm not going to dismiss kitbashing with regular gang arms/weapons to try and get unique champs. I do wish Pulveriser == Renderizer. In the early book fluff each renderizer was supposed to be unique, converted by the fighter as it were. So its daft having a separate sculpt /profile for something so similar or saying this sprue thing is what a Renderizer must look like.

You had one job, Timmy, all you had to do is follow the artwork. No, not your artwork, weezuz Timmy.

Wait, what? Isn't it double sprues as usual, so you get four forge born, 2 each?

Brat gangs might be coming sooner rather than later... I mean, if they want another visually/thematically connected gang for the Escher, I can't think of anything better?

Zerker needs at least a head from the ogryn slaves (the masked one?), but probably better off using the Artel W one unless you plan on going to Warhammer World with that precise gang setup :D

I can't make out the fine print on the contents preview but the description notes a d66 table of Tactics Cards. Does this mean the card rules will (finally) be listed in a rule book, or is it just a table with their names and no description? Hoping of course for the former.
Where in the description does it say d66? I enlarged the image, but I can't see it...
