You seem to be under the impression that people are going to be using this in a game!
Given that it’s likely to be £100 and looks way too nice to throw into a bag for taking down t’club, I’d just use something else for that… assuming either it or the game see a release before 2025.
Playing at a club is a huge time sink. Packing the models, travel time, unpack the models, play the game, pack the models, drive home and put them back in the glass cabinet. Sounds like a nightmare to me.They say they do. We all know it’s actually gathering dust.
Presumably why most models are gathering dust. Bar the travel time and first packing that’s exactly the same wherever you are.

Hopefully they release The Old World, they’ve only been talking about it for… three years now?? We now see a few model pictures, a bit of art, occasional article.

Don´t hold your breath. This year will see the release of Hobgoblin from the Gaslands dev. That game will be a model agnostic R&F with far better rules than the blokes in Nottingham are allowed to write. So dust off your models from the 90s and have a good ol´ brawl.
Apparently announced 15th November 2019, so getting on for 4 years now. Some Kislev concept art, some arms and weapons as 3D renders, a couple of maps and, if I recall correctly, five new models. It reads as though there's maybe a total of 5 people on this project, who have busy lives doing other jobs to pay the bills while working on this passion project in their spare time, rather than it being developed by a huge multinational company.
I'd be more inclined to think this was going to be released (at all, let alone soon) if GW showed off any new Kislev models as actual painted minis, which would demonstrate that tangible progress has actually occurred since 2019; the "new" models are based on existing sculpts, whereas anything Kislev-based would have been progressed from the concept art.
I think that's generous. The rate at which anything is being shown, we're not even looking at a release; HH 2.0 had a similar amount of coverage but came out in a couple of years from announcement, certainly less time than 4 years. Newcromunda essentially got teased and dropped the same year (2017). The Old World by comparison is shaping up to be vapourware.
Always remember to double it for Australia. A long time ago Australia must have said something disparaging about GW and they've never gotten over it.

Wasn't this Aekold Helbrass's gift too? It would be cool to model a diorama of a duel between the two, with flowers everywhere...
I’m sure you are all over this already but GW has already announced that Assault Squads are not being brought into the new codex.
According to WHC they will have to be used as Vanguard Veterans when the new codex is released.
That’s not too bad, and there are a number of other units that will need to be proxies, but you should feel bad for anyone that enjoys using Land Speeders because when the new codex drops they will apparently not be there.
I doubt they will kill first born tech marines and librarians so I would expect new sculpts for them, but the rest seem to be going away.

I'm not sure what to make of this though, since we've already seen new scout models. It stands to reason that the old scout models are being retired, but presumably scouts will still exist - so not everything mentioned here will be without rules.

Except they won’t be “scouts.” Probably Speculator Astartes or something else they can trademark.
It's kind of confusing what is and isn't getting replaced. Are these new scouts firstborn or restartes, who knows but they are taller apparently. I also don't understand why they don't want the pile of money they could get from doing a big made to order run before discontinuing kits. Oh well at least I managed to get an order in with firestorm for a box of the old mk3 marines kit as they seem under the impression they are getting one last restock.
They'll probably spin it as the first initiates with primaris gene seed, then eventually there won't be any distinction between firstborn and primaris, then it will be retconned that primaris are just normal marines/Cawl lied when he said they were a new type of marine and just found some secondary gene seed vault the Emperor had kept for emergencies.
It’s daft but GW adjusted the fluff so that peeps models wouldn’t be instantly outdated by True Scale Marines, which they’d have rightly got a good kicking for 
I’ve no idea why they did the new scale though, I admit that to me it never looked right that Imperial Guard were the same scale as OG Marines, it was a strange mess that they created back in the early days of the 40k model ranges combined with their frankly weird scale creep, but we’d all come to accept it. Now they are using more than 10% more material for their main range! the cost of which they could be saving and passing on to shareholders!

Given their track record, I would take WHC's claims with a grain of salt. It's clear in hindsight that whoever wrote that article was not informed that Jump Pack Intercessors were being prepped for reveal as the new assault squad.
