New models incoming

Ratlings! A small pile of new Ratlings is coming at some point, thanks to Kill Team. Enough Ratlings to carry a friend up a mountainside.
Add these two the old metals, and to Rein and Raus, and it looks like enough for a Necromunda gang. So here's the next question: what gang would you use as the ruleset for an all-Ratling gang? Van Saar (shooty and long guns)? Delaque or GSC (cunning skills across the board, and sniper guns)? Something else entirely?

Looking at the models: Orlock.

Dogs, explosives, outrageous facial hair…

Just covert the guns.

Great idea! You could have a lot of fun coming up with recipe names of the combined chems.
Oh yeah, definitely. And the delivery systems too. Beneficial ones could be drunk or eaten, attack ones could be a pie or pudding you fling at the enemy. Or maybe a seltzer bottle you spray them with. For instance, the Escher chem thrower could spray super-spicy jerk sauce at people.

I must say I wasn't expecting a Squat specialists box, ahead Palanites, Corpse grinders and Nomads. I guess someone in the Necromunda studio must really like squats; I wonder if they might even get a plastic weapons upgrade pack (since at the end of the article they mention more Ironhead goodies to come).

Anyway, setting aside the release order/priority, these 'squat Terminator suits' look pretty cool (a mid-way point between normal Ironheads and the Brute Exosuit); it is a bit weird that they seem to be melee focused/exclusive (considering Squat's Movement speed and the stat lines of all their current fighters, the Leader is the only one with above average Weapon skill), but I am happy to see pairs of Power fists and 'Killsaws'.

Based on the pictures I am guessing the box will come with 4 Exo-kyns and 2 Techmites, from 2 identical frames (we can see there are 2 bodies/breast plate variants repeated); my only question now is weather these Exo-kyns are meant to be the squats 'specialist champions' (like Death maidens and Stimmers) or their version of 'ganger specialists' (like Techhunters in Van Saar).

Having just heard about how scary good they are in the War Room segment of episode 27 of Sump City Radio, maybe they are trying to make up for how good the Vartijan Exo-driller brute is? Being able to put bolters and other shooty weapons on those heavily armored bodies might be too much. I do agree that paired melee weapons look cool and should make them very impactful if they make it to melee.

That is a very big IF on a gang whose entire tactic is "have cars or stay back and shoot". The biggest challenge Ironheads face, IMO, is that they have a harder time playing to objectives on account of usually getting there last. So unless they play scenarios where the enemy has to come to them, they'll be on the backfoot.

Also: Storm welders, while very nice lore-wise, have unstable. And mounting anything costing 75 credits and liable to kill its bearer on a model that is likely expensive is just not a good idea.

*cries in Delaque still not having vehicles*

Allow me to introduce you to the Exo-kyn-a-pult. Either that or a telekine wyrd that could propel them across the board.

"Tired of shooting your foes to death? Long to feel the crunch of your opponents bones? Thought you couldn't get across the battlefield to get up close and personal? Think again friend thanks to the Exo-kyn-a-pult!"

Useful in Ash Wastes as they'll be aboard a vehicle, less useful in Underhive, as they will be just a few inches from their deployment by the end. Some interesting visual touch-stones to the old Exo-Suits (of which I own only one), and the original first Goodwin concept Terminator suit (of which I also own only one). A curious reference to the Sump Seas. Not enough though to suggest that will be the next "big setting" as things eventually move on from Secundus.

Enforcers got the Subjugator specialist box. But not CGC though. How come these doesn't have rules yet? Must be first time a specialist unit is revealed ahead of the rules? Which means there'll be another book soonish. And Squat is now divided across 2 books?

Yeah, now that you mention it, Enforcers are surprisingly well 'supported' in their releases: basic Gang box with Book of Judgement, Subjugators box with Book of Ruin/Dark uprising box, exclusive plastic Brute and exclusive plastic Medium vehicle with the Aranthian successions, while Delaques cry in the dark... The only 'kit' they are missing is a Weapon upgrade pack, except they already have all their gang lists' weapons on the existing sprues.

Just like an Ambot's less useful in the Underhive?

I'd not be surprised if they got e.g. Infiltrate & Sprint, or a special rule that allowed any number of Exo Kyn to use the "Assault Tunnel" tactics card method or something. (Or, being precursor/divergent to terminators: teleporters & immunity to unreliable.)

My expectation's they'll be either prospects & alt-Champions *or* Secundus-style Specialists.

But it's also possible they might be more akin to Spyrers and the Spyrer gangs...(!!!)
