New models incoming

The main 'issue' with Exo-Kyns as their own fighter type, is that as far as we know they are normal Squats in sudo 'power armor'; unless they are somehow permanently wired into it (like mini Dreadnaughts or Spyrers?), it would make sense for champions/leader to also be able to get those suits, even tho it might be prohibitively expensive, considering the cred-cost of 'plain' carapace armor.
So, my guess is that these Exo-Kyns will be 'expensive' Specialist gangers (in the 80-100 creds range), that have the Exo suits baked-in their basic cost (Exo suits probably just being Light/Heavy Carapace armor, maybe even treated to offer extra protection from Blaze/Gas like Hazard suits) and access to a bunch of rather expensive weapons/heavy mining equipment.
The big question as to their 'usefulness' will most likely come down to cost and any special rules they may have: as some already suggested, maybe some form of tunnelling deployment/infiltration to compensate for them being melee fighters with Movement 4'' or Pinning mitigation (Immovable would be nice).
That said, in the worst case scenario (if they end up being overcosted prospects like Forgeborns), we could still use the models to represent Leader/champs in actual Carapace armor.

Hi guys, gotta say that I really enjoyed painting and playing the squats much more than I expected! They were so much fun to paint and I had a right laugh playing with them (albeit most were set on fire and my juve was laid out and excecuted - thank you @MusingWarboss!). So much so that I genuinely am excited about this release, I will definitely be adding them to my warband. I think they look awesome with the old school terminator aesthetic. I think I’ll paint them white with the weapons the pop colour.

I like the idea of providing the squats with some CC fighters, provide suppressive fire with the autoguns and charge forwards.

I think I would arm them with double power fist and double rock drills cos it just looks badass. However, arc welders I love too - anything with random luck to cause chaos is good in my books. If you have two can you get gunfighter skill ??

Totally agree with all the comments, i like the idea of the hazard suits built in. I don’t mind the slow movement as it goes with the squat territory, so I like the idea of some sort of iron will built in to give them the feeling of the impervious stomping towards you through a hail of fire seems quite fitting to me.

Your guess is as good as mine. If I were a sumpin man...
Delaque will dominate both the Sump Sea setting vehicle as well as figure releases. Their Lho stick speed boats, bathysphere diving rigs and merlaque specialists will all be released after GW has already moved onto the Eye of Selene setting but will, ironically, end up dominating that setting more so than their intended one.

I've been trying NOT to get 3rd Ed Kill Team, but this starter I think I'm going to get. I like both teams and wasn't able to get the Space Marine Heroes sets. I especially like the Emperor's finest and already know how I'd paint them.

Yeah.. MDF terrain. Who'd have thunk it? Somebody at GW (finally) got smart.

It doesn't look as good as the plastic Ryza Ruins, but I suppose it is convenient - packs down flat and no need to paint it.

@Galtarr I agree with you. Being able to disassemble it for storage is a huge benefit in my opinion. One of the main things I dislike about GW terrain is the inordinate amount of space it takes up for storage. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous stuff but it takes up SO much room compared to any other game I have. I'm good with the MDF terrain, terrain for me doesn't necessarily have to be a model in and of itself.

I think it’s great - the plastic can stay up there as a premium product but these get a usable bit of nice looking terrain on the table quickly, which is great for beginners, quick set up games, a travel set - even tournaments where they want decent looking standardised layouts.

Plus the ability to pack flat and it’s a winner really. Should be more hard wearing than the card of old too.

I expect these will end up quite cheaply on eBay too from those who only want the plastic models in the set.
