So there is some more previews of the old world world high elves, including this monstrosity:

Don't like it myself. It just looks wrong to me.
Well it shares the same design issue as the Escher Kymmerix: too many different 'skin' textures (Fish scales, Dragon scales, Fur and Barnacles) scattered randomly all over the model for no apparent reason - it looks more like a 'practice' piece, where the sculptor was learning how to make different textures :D

I think that sums up my issues with it pretty well. It also isn't sinuous enough to feel like a wyrm to me and the short dumpy legs and seal like shape to the body doesn't suggest a fast creature that would be suitable for a land battlefield.

I'd argue that's the point with the Kymmerix though, it's supposed to be an amalgamation of different creatures' genes all expressing on the same creature. Whether one likes that or not is a different story, of course.

I like the Oathmark Heavy elf infantry... But the swordmasters of hoeth are available again and I always wanted some of those as a kid... If they scale okay with the Oathmark plastics I may have to get those instead...

I did notice that they can serve as both swordmasters and white lions, should you want them to. (Although I don't know how many swords and axes there are per box, I doubt it's five of each.)

I suspect they'll look small next to the TOW/WFB models, even allowing for the fact that the TOW/WFB are older sculpts.

I’ve used oathmark elf infantry in my wood elf army alongside GW stuff and they scale ok (I’m a scale stickler myself). They definitely have more ‘realistic’ proportions but I think it works ok with elves.
