New models incoming

I will probably be in the minority but I like them. Someone who has the previous sculp and get this one will have a good variety of sculpt.
No, I'm with you, I like them. I think they kept most of the old design aesthetic like "big hats, braided beards" to be recognizable, but updated it for modern times, at the cost of toning it down a bit to bring it in line with the proportions on modern models.

But I do say that when I got a notification that @Trafalgar Law had posted in the thread I thought "Oh, he's not going to like them." Sorry man, this time I disagree, the beards are still braided enough and the hats are still big enough for me, but I fully get why you dislike them, they don't have the same style as the old metal ones I ogled in White Dwarf but never managed to find as a teenager.

I'm rather excited about the new Kill Team set. Necrons are my 40K army so having another Necrons Kill Team is good. The Necrons themed terrain will work well for me also. I'm REALLY happy that the Deathwatch is back after a long hiatus. They were my favorite team in 1st Ed. I would still like to see an Eldar Guardians team.

I'm liking that Combat Patrols are out now for all the Loyalist Chapters. Perhaps we'll see dedicated Patrol boxes for the Traitor Legions in the future, who knows?

Most of the rest didn't interest me, but still looked cool, the Squats.. er Votan especially.

Chaos Dwarfs were always some of my favourite models as the army lists and lore were in the first White Dwarf magazines I ever bought. So their traditional appearance means a lot to me nostalgia wise and while some of these models have elements of the original style, overall they just miss the mark. On further inspection it does look like more have the correct style beards (mostly the centaurs) than I initially thought but a large percentage don't, and a lot don't have any beard at all!

Lots of nice looking models this time around with the new Tomb King characters being especially great. My Raven Guard even got a new chapter master mini. I see some people complain about the colour scheme GW picked for the Chaos Dwarfs, which is a bit strange since the models come unpainted. Great that they'll also have rules for Warcry. I have a handful of the very old CDs somewhere, including a sorcerer on lammasu I never got around to painting. I also really like the new alchemist ghost model. There were a few models in the "not very interesting" category (yet more tiny tanks for Legions), but otherwise I think I liked pretty much everything!

That's the women...

Giant bug attack arbitrator scenario? Perhaps as a means to reign in a runaway gang or a special event.

They are nice sculpts though.
All wonderful ideas sadly ruined by GWs pricing policy.
I just know they won’t be cheap enough for that purpose and at this point I’d rather spend the money on stuff I’d use on a regular basis rather than a very expensive one-off which could probably be achieved via a 3D print or a converted kids toy.

If you’re getting them as just collectors pieces then that’s its own justification but as purely gaming bits… not for me as I don’t collect AWN and don’t want to.

Still, lovely sculpts though.

For those that don't get the Wargames Atlantic newletter, they just put out a statement about having to do a price increase. Looks like it will be about 8%, with the increase fully setting in by September 15th.

Frankly, in my view, it's been pretty amazing that they haven't done a price increase until now, and 8% seems alright in the face of everything.
