New models incoming

If I were to start BB, I think I would have started else where than a another starter box. Why not get a team you really want, instead of the random 2 new ones?

I think you could say similar about any starter set. And I have often wished the traditional two faction boxes were replaced with a permanent special offer, letting one buy rules plus two faction boxes for a special price. But the BB starter seems fair value, even if you don't want the teams.

You get rules, pitch, tokens, and dice, which would probably cost about as much anyway. And if you really don't want the teams, you can always sell them - could get half your money back that way.

Anyone noticed them mention that the squats are monopole sculpts? That's quite a departure for Necromunda...

Just flagging that the new Necromuda lore book Spire of Hive Primus is currently listed on the GW store as "available while stocks last". Why that should be the case when the last three weren't I don't know (ditto whether it actually indicates a scarcity issue), but thought I'd PSA it anyway.

Is it really, though? Aren't the basic Van Saar pretty much monopose?
the torsos and legs are, there is some slight variation with the arms, but not all arms work with all torsos, same as all the other Necromunda gangs. They did do a very weird thing with the guns though splitting them in half so you could have different barrel options.

Picked up my Spire of Primus book and hangers on box yesterday. Bit confused by the hive watcher rules including the Catfall and Clamber skills when the official model has no legs and appears to be integrated into a monitoring station of sorts. It's got 4" movement stat, though, so it must inch or squiggle its way around.

I haven't read the latest book but from previous lore:

pre-imperial
-the iron lords were a darkage human society with aliens, warp-gates & psykers
-they got their arses kicked by the imperial fists and imperial army forces
-when they fell the area/sector got invaded by an unknown alien invasion (former subjects? a race the iron lords previously quareled with?)

imperial
-all the other worlds from the iron lords are completely destroyed save necromunda / araneus prime
-gangs with iron lords lineage kept fighting / ruling the world under imperial authority

-a non-iron lord gang (helm'ayr) ended up winning over the iron lord gangs and over a few generations, they kicked them out of circulation
(a few survived, the older gangs / noble houses worked with the iron lords at some point)

-the aranthian succesion > they stage a comeback
how many are left? what's their tech level? why didn't the helmawr kill them off?

so he's a surviving iron lord (cyborg) or a surviving servant, likely of human descent but 'tweaked' using ancient technology

I might be a grognard but that's some interesting lore. To me good lore is background that gives you lots of unique reasons to build and fight with your armies (or in this case gangs).

Maybe they’re actually bringing back the sensei/star children!!! @Narflung ?
Now the return of the Sensei/Star Children would be cool, as it's one of my favourite bits of old lore however, with the introduction of the Perpetuals, who have the same immortal schtick as the Sensei, make it unlikely.

I have to admit I do really like the Nucromunda lore now that it's fleshed out, but I am still playing the lower power-level Oldmunda (NCE specifically).

Keen to see what comes of this Aranthan fella.
