Necromunda New Necromunda naming

Since the new Necromunda is confirmed and imminent (November), there comes the question of what we will call it. How do we distinguish it from previous version(s) aside from the "new" Necromunda? It will have it's own forum section, it's own tools, vault category and other such places on YakTribe. Should it get a 3-letter acronym to fit in with our existing family of rules?

On the new YakTribe, I have an entry for Blood Bowl as it's name, with a version string as "2016" for example.

Necromunda Underhive (technically it's name but Underhive was already released in 2001 and is technically LRB) - NUE
Newmunda - NRB
Neomunda - NRB
Necromunda 2017 - N17
Necromunda New Edition - NNE
Necromunda 8th Ed - N8E
Necromunda Big Ed - NBE

How are you counting to get to 8th? Or are you proposing that because it's based on 40k 8th? (In which case, the original is presumably Necromunda 2nd...)

I think N17 is my favourite of these. That's in keeping with Blood Bowl (which most people seem to refer to as 2016 if necessary) and doesn't lead to future problems if there's another newer edition in future.

I've already seen a few people coin things like 'Neomunda' or 'Newmunda', but those don't necessarily lend themselves to three character abbreviations.

Correct, a reference to 8th edition. Obviosuly would confuse people though (there's 8 editions of Necromunda??)

Added the list, that's an obvious one, I like it. If we actually insisted on using a 3 letter as well, could be NEW lol.

I don't know if it'll have an impact on the rules, but I've heard the minis are more likely to be 32mm than 'Heroic'. That could mean a change in ranges like happened in BB. If so perhaps N32 could be considered if this happens?

My vote is still for Newcromunda and N17 though.

For some reason "Newcromunda" irritates me. I like the combination of Newmunda and N17 for short.

Generally we'll throw a few comments around, get ideas, and then put the most popular ones up for a vote.

Or ... because people are lazy and every group needs a Sheepdog ... someone will say "How about This?" And we all go "Meh ... ok."

This forum uses one of the most advanced software around, it has polls I was waiting for suggestions before adding one.

I vote for Newmunda, the fact it goes to NEW is very cool. Part of me likes the N17 though as the 3 digit abrevaiation.
