N18 New Rules Incoming

You're not alone with the old git syndrome. As much as I'd prefer physical paper, the quality is so low even a blind person can see it. And the changes are so frequent it will age like milk. Admittedly this book in particular has uniquely good quality, a true exception to everything else released.
Ironically I didn't buy it due to aforementioned quality and by the time I heard it was an improvement it was gone. I have the opportunity to start up a new campaign and am trying to ensure it starts on the best footing.

Edit: my FLGS is enquiring about availability prior to their next order and said they'll get back to me later this week. So I'll post an update when I know.

Are you ready for more Succession??? Well here you go, Book 3 in the Saga:

“In Necromunda: The Aranthian Succession – Ruins of Jardlan, the seven Noble Houses are in disarray. The power vacuum created by the attempted assassination of Lord Gerontius Helmawr has the great and the bad of Necromunda in an almighty struggle to reach the top of Hive Primus

“The Succession Campaign Part 3 – Fall of Helmawr follows on from this, introducing new vehicles and equipment for House Van Saar, the Palanite Enforcers, and the Ironhead Squat Prospectors, as well as four new Dramatis Personae”

So, there you go. Nothing for Delaque.

One wonders two things- why weren’t the enforcer vehicles in the previous book, and will the plastic arachni-rig have the same options as the resin Forgeworld one?
Agree with the 'first thing', Enforcers should have gotten 'their vehicle' in the last book and Dealque should have gotten something in this one, but alas...
Well, we know this 'Ash-jumper' arachni-rig variant can have Harpoon launcher (which the normal rig doesn't) and in the pics we can clearly see Van saar-styled Flamer and Plasmagun options and one additional un-named gun that could be a Radgun (like the resin rig), Gravgun or something new.
That said, if the Ash-jumper is classified as a vehicle, it won't be able to do melee attacks with its servo arms, but it will be able to 'Fire all' with all its guns, but then why not treat the 'standard arachni-rig' as a light walker rather than a brute?
One more 'thing' I'd add to the 'questions': will Neoteks keep their current rules for their Grav-cutters or will they become 'Born in the saddle' fighters on special mounts like the Way-brethren and Helamite riders? (note that if Grav cutters become mounts, they'll need to test their Initiative to avoid getting pinned and splattering themselves on the ground/walls)

Your van saar knowledge far exceeds my own! They are the one gang that I have never had the slightest urge to play. I think it’s all those beards and mullets /shudder/ 😂
This potential retrofitting of ash waste mounts/vehicles to encompass things that have been previously released sounds like a proper minefield. Hopefully it isn’t as bad as it could be and doesn’t add even more cognitive load to the already burdensome ruleset.

This text and the footnotes are in the article of that’s any use.

“This burst of speed helps the Van Saar traverse the ash wastes and keep up with their grav-cutter riding Neoteks, who have also had some tweaks to suit the dunes of Necromunda.**”

** Not least to make it hard for them to fall off!”

Good catch, thanks :D
I like that you can close the cockpit.
Along those same lines, I am considering making a fully enclosed cockpit (no arms sticking out the sides) and depending on how the rules turn out (do the 'melee' servo arms have any use, if it turns out to be a vehicle?), I might swap the 'back arms' for extra rotors/jets, to make its silhouette more distinct and use these spare arms to convert/kit bash a non-resin Arachni rig... We'll see :)

I was thinking a similar thing. Why have a cockpit with the arms sticking out?

I wonder why they would prioritize not falling off for the grav cutters? They look like they would be very easy to fall off. Hence give them to the crazy rospects who haven't got radiation sickness yet

My guess is that grav-cutters will get mounted rule, but perhaps a better initiative stat.
Really hope that if the make a tweak to the grav cutters that it's combined with a distinction between their use in-hive vs. the ash wastes.....e.g. "when used in the ash wastes grav cutters follow rules XYZ because of reasons ABC, but in-hive they function as per house of artifice".......or they simply maintain the grav cutters rules, but can still only be accessed my neoteks i.e. they're not made in to a mount open to all gang members. Neoteks are one of the few truly unique and fun things about van saar (and I say that as a van saar player!), archeocybertechnika is cool but very situational and we're pretty much rail roaded in to boring builds due to the house list.....

Don't see any reasons why grav cutters should be open to all gang members, regardless of whether it is updated to mount or not. Rules still follow WYSIWYG box content very much.

Pretty lazy, 5000 points, can include a quarter of that from other gang lists, ignore all the rules that make the game Necromunda and count up the dead models at the end to determine who won.

It's possibly fun once, but is going to struggle to compete with any other game system that has more complex rules than "move and shoot"

Ever wanted to fight bigger battles using Necromunda rules? Now you can – albeit with a few simplifications. To find out how, you can download Hive of Blood below. "Warhammer Community"

Um no.. actually. In fact I tend to be the opposite - wanting to scale my games bang 500pts or maybe homerule some shit to see if we can start with a single fighter or two and build a gang from nothing.

A fair summation, now why did it take 10 pages to state that?
