N18 New Rules Incoming

They made silly mistakes in the chaos pdf around 2018 (before they got booked), releasing 3 pdfs in rapid succession. Other than that and the big ones like faq/errata and trading post, they haven't updated pdfs much.

They’ve updated it.

That was unusually quick.

No more. Its fixed.

Some one is watching us. Otherwise how could they know?

In fairness, there's that and it was a really glaringly obvious "huh?" in a document that pretty much everyone who's got a nose for Necromunda (and sees a link in passing) might take a wee peek at. Not just people contacting them, but I expect a "switchboard lighting up!" thing.

And, it's not like "ooh, it's got one subset of one factions tournament players in Australia really excited, this might be a hackable oversight" sort of thing, but rather even if the social media team know *nothing* about GW or games or even the English language, as long as they have a head on their shoulders there's a fair chance they'd get the idea as to what's going on - and that it might be a really easy fix.

Not "you should rethink this rule", but "haha, it's a massive typo, but people are EXCITED!"

I've not seen such an all-round mostly-really-positive hubbub in a good whole.

It's kinda lovely.

(That it gels well with the Squat/Ogryn lore jollieness is just lovely. Going to have to get Ratlings and Beastmen in on the action now too!)

150, 100, 60 credits for beastmen profiles - more expensive than i thought they’d be but probably what they intended originally.

Well it’s done now, whether people like the new numbers or not.

Perhaps if we gently coax them they might see fit to updating the main FAQ/Errata document too?
Sounds like the formation of a new thread “FAQ and Errata Update Suggestions”.

Re-stating the exotic beast listing number clarification from the GoTU errata section as a general Core Book clarification would be my first suggestion, I’m sure Topsy has more cued up.

So, with this previewed and the Squats… what actually is left in the Book of the Outlands??

Just the Orlocks bikes??

That books gotta be, ahem, Squatted soon surely?? Did they just release it as a placeholder until they got the full books and assorted models ready??

Who would buy it now?

Addendum: I do wish that the new Venators rules included the possibility for a Venators gang to turn to Chaos worship. A Beastmen-heavy Venators gang following Chaos could be a lovely bunch of Outlanders.... Easy House Rule, but not "official."

Edit: Ogryn rules as Minotaurs, and the lots of Beastmen, with some House and Halfling rules as Ungors. Well. I may need to have a look-see at what my collection entails. Lots of Throwing Knives for cheap basic weapons, lots of melee focus. Lots of Cunning and Agility for mobility... Hmm....

Edit too: Oh! This spread of profiles and types and legacies May finally make a Venators list the best option for representing Lroot bounty hunters in Necromunda, when combined with the more recent Kroot sculpts equipped with things other than the Kroot Rifle. Your Hierarchy fighters can all take the Kroot Rifle. The Ogryn should work for Krootox. Access to “looted trophy” House equipment on hire. Wide variety of profiles for “evolutions.”

Ash Nomads currently already do blend the OLD Nomads and the Ratskins, avoiding environmental effects (and causing Visibility rules Environmental effects), having "spirit" bonuses, an odd mix of weapons but mostly low-tech, combined with respirators, riding beasts instead of vehicles, and long rifles. It wouldn't be much of a stretch.

Isn't this how it's been for most expanded gangs? You get the main box plus some extra forgeworld bits together with book 1. Then, when the 2nd box with specials come, there is book 2. Only exception is enforcers who got both boxes together with the book at the same time.
