What is everyone's opinion on new rules for racers? Could be a good mini-series campaign?!

Doesn't everyone need a book wheel?
I wonder if we’ll need one of these for the new edition?? We certainly do for the previous/still current one!!!![]()
For the 2017-2026 game… yes.Doesn't everyone need a book wheel?
With the exception of the Badzone Enforcers, all current gangs and their vehicles will be featured in the two ‘Gangs of…’ books.
Changes to the N23 rules will include ‘baked-in’ save characteristics, range modifiers impacting cover saves and a simplified Insanity table.
What do you think the most significant change to #Necromunda will be?

Badzone Enforcers might come later. They got to sell extra content you know! And if any gang was to get ommitted, why not BE? They are a variant of enforcers. Not many other gangs which have a weaker foundation than them.On the bad side, the streamlining is worrisome. I don’t understand why they would remove the Badzone Enforcers, unless it is because people were having too much fun converting miniatures and they want to sell something else.
On the bright side, they are translating the game, so people I know who could not play because they did not speak English will finally be able to.
It would be a step in the right direction if the Venators from the Apocrypha Necromunda article are included, as well as the Outcast gangs... I think that's what they called the rules where you could select any model in the game to be your leader, and build a highly customized gang around it. Of course, that seems to be a bit contrary to "streamlining."Also - Badlands Enforcers are suggested to be the only gang not included in the new release edition…![]()
Word for the additional rule supplements aside, the idea that to get the Rulebook, then the two gang books and that’s your base, with updates in these “journals” reminded me very much of the BB Spike Magazines - so it seems that they might be trying that with new Necromunda? The term "journals" was introduced in Horus Heresy and/or Fantasy Old World? Not familiar with that wording, for me it's mostly used for hospitals. Cause Blood Bowl used Spike Magazines for new teams with bonus special rules. And yearly almanacs for collecting that year's spike magazines and perhaps some additional bonus rules.
It is the sensible thing which all better planned games always did. Even Kill team has one core rulebook and the rest are optional expansions.Word for the additional rule supplements aside, the idea that to get the Rulebook, then the two gang books and that’s your base, with updates in these “journals” reminded me very much of the BB Spike Magazines - so it seems that they might be trying that with new Necromunda?
Then presumably whatever Necromunda themed version of the almanacs (Apocryphas?) wrapping up that years bundles.
Which does sound a bit like how 2017 started… hmm.
Would this mean more frequent updated versions too… rather than another ten year slog.
No disagreement here. If they can stick to that and not be tempted to continuously tweak things. It is the sensible thing which all better planned games always did. Even Kill team has one core rulebook and the rest are optional expansions.
I collected all content for BB into a single pdf for reference throughout 2 editions. Thought it would be neat to have all in one place, but after a while it's just the same concepts repeated. Quality and balance was also very uneven. Not to mention the random effect cards!Journals sound not great for Necromunda. If they're going off the Blood Bowl model, they're probably not accounting for how freely-available their core content (ie. rosters and star players) is online. And non-core content is honestly a nightmare for players – flashbacks to my old league deciding to use the seasonal weather tables and nobody having a clue where to find them, or deciding to pick one of the odd cheap inducements with my last 10k and ending up leafing through the shop's stack of magazines to find out which one had the artillerist.
