Im trying my best NOT to get excited about this until Iv seen the price, but... I am mucho liking what I see and am curious what other Yaks are thinking?
Iv Started collecting some titans already, and Iv got the the bug for BFG, and Im left wondering if the smaller scale is how 40k should have always been? (spoiler:I’m also starting warmaster very soon -thread incoming)

ive been waiting for epic since it finished first time.
i couldnt afford it then and had no one to play with anyway , now its back (ish) and i seem to be back in the same position.
sadly i wanted to play as ork , which seems to never be an option but perhaps that has made the descision for me.
lovely models though

The orks would have been my team too, if I hadn’t been in the exact same position! (Too much stuff to buy, so little pocket money) But I always regret not getting a great gargant.

Like many people I would have preferred to see Epic 40K make a comeback, rather than Epic 30K. I understand why GW did this though, they don't need to support as many factions.

I will be watching how things progress with great interest. I'm unlikely to buy many models, only those which I can use in my Epic 40K army.

At least GW supporting any form of Epic should raise interest in players. If (like me) potential players are put off by the 30K setting there are plenty of third party models and rules they can use to represent their 40K armies in Epic scale.

Yeah, I think it’s great that Epic has returned. Though as always it seems as though GW are late to the party that they started.

It’s noticeable that other companies and indeed YouTube have been awash with <28mm models the last couple of years. Indeed there has been a big push on Warlord’s Epic Battles and it’s been promoted heavily and now covers 3 periods.

I like the little tanks they’ve produced so far, the troops look ok but I’d need to see them unpainted and I’m somewhat unsure about the circular bases. Ok it fits the theme 30/40k has always had but I liked the squares.

Kinda with everyone above though, I’d like to have seen Orks again, plenty of opportunity to get some of the cool and iconic vehicles reimagined and putting mini versions of the current ones out too.

I can’t remember the contents of the first Space Marine box (though the name may be a clue) but the second version had enough troops, rhinos and land raiders for two forces and a Titan included, PLUS a force of Orks and Eldar.

So maybe they will arrive in the future. Even without the Epic 40k version Epic always had Imperial Guard, Chaos, Orks, Squats and Eldar forces.

It looks ok so far. No Land Raiders or Rhinos though which is a bit weird, will they be released in the first wave or will people have to wait to get a full army? (I suspect the latter based on GW current form).

Can't really get excited for this though as I have a feeling price and availability will be screwed up as usual these days and while the decision to go with 30k is understandable as it needs fewer models, it also suggests the game won't get long term support.

Old Epic is 6mm. Aeronautica Imperialis and Adeptus Titanicus are 8mm scale which is what Legions Imperialis will be.

As I've mentioned before, I have pretty much everything already for AI and AT, so I'm very much looking forward to LI as are my friends in our gaming group. They also have a lot of AI and AT so being able to use our models in another game is a bonus for us.

Hopefully when it comes out next month (probably releasing at or around GenCon is my thought) my friends took the hint and will be chipping in to get me a copy.

@MusingWarboss yeah.. I was trying not to be too Sumpy on my post here. But in all honesty I figured that any re-issue of Epic would be 30K rather than 40K. Adeptus Titanicus has been out since 2018 (I think.. ) and despite the clamor from people there's still no Xenos models. <shrugs> It is what it is, and at my age (60+) I'm past whining and crying about whether or not little toy soldiers are being made. Others can scream and rant, I'll be happy playing what's available and making the best of it.

I’m still in my 30s - GIVE ME XENOS!!! 😄😄😄

it’s looking tho I’ll have to complete my Titan legion though nu-epic now, so it’s looking likely I might end up with some little fellas.

Just Gryphonicus, nothing exciting. It’s just iv fallen in love with the Reaver, so my grand plan is to have a maniple or two to cover all ranges. (not into the magnets personally)

It’s all @radulykan ‘s fault, i went to learn BFG, I saw his legion in the flesh and I lnstantly wanted to command some giant 7 inch stompy boys!

@CaptainDangerous Gryphonicus is cool. I'm going to be doing Astorum I love the blue, yellow and gold (US Navy colors, which I retired from). My good friend is doing Kulestaeti. I'm currently working on a Reaver - which is also my favorite - for Mortis. I'm doing just an maniple as a "loaner" force so if someone wants to learn or play I can supply them with minis. I AM into magnets, the completed Warhound and in progress Reaver have them (they are a bit of work).

Once I get Legions Imperialis I'll most likely do the Marines as Salamanders, my favorite Legion/Chapter.

Which reminds me.. I still have Marines for Aeronautica. Maybe I'll pull them out and get a head's start.

@daveh Good looking stuff! And I know the feeling. Fortunately I have one good friend who's gotten in as deep as I have and we're pulling in another kicking and screaming.

:ROFLMAO:
